For anyone interested in getting their hands on a pre-release version of Episode 2, all you need to do it rate and review the first episode on Fanedit.org. Once that's done, PM me with what version you want (DVD, AVCHD or BR) and I'll send you the link. Episode 2 will officially be released the first week of July.

Just checked on MF and the account is active and all files accounted for. Loaded up the DLC in jDownloader and it starts fine. Have you tried updating jDownloader? Sometimes an outdated version can cause problems. If you haven't forced an update lately, click the Check for New Updates button in the toolbar and see if that helps.

I figured out After Effects Roto Brush which is pretty damn cool. Unfortunately, in the scene described above R2 has a bluish tint all around so trying to change his color at all affects him entirely. Looks terrible.

I spent six hours last night trying to get R2 re-colored in AE. Unfortunately I won't be able to do it with my limited skill. 75% of the shots through the films are probably fairly easy to fix, but its the other 25% that will pose a big issue for me. An example would be the very first shot of R2 in my version: he appears on the hull of the ship to help with repairs. The amount of movement, as well as the blue planet of Naboo behind him, is causing massive problems. The AE tracker loses tracking points, plus R2 rotates causing the matte to change.

While I would love to be able to change R2's color I can't do it at this time. If there is someone more skilled in AE that would like to take a stab at it PM me and I can provide a sample clip to see if you can do it. If you can perhaps we can work together to recolor R2.

So, for the time being at least, the edits will be released as-is with a blue Astromech Droid.

In AE, you could do a secondary color correction and select the R2 blue and shift it to yellow, green, red or whatever and put a very rough mask around him just to avoid selection of surrounding objects and then parent the mask to a tracking null of R2.

Took me awhile to figure that out, but it revolutionized my editing.

So I did some experimenting today and, unfortunately, I can't pull off recoloring R2 with regular color correction. It would take creating an R2 mask, repainting, etc., all far more complex than I can do. Maybe after I'm done with the initial release I can take some time to try and learn AE and pull this off. But for now, sadly, R2 will remain blue.

I did something similar, and found that it actually added a dynamic to the scene, rather than cheapened it.

The name 'Anakin' is first spoken by Force ghost Obi-Wan, in RotJ.  The name is not spoken at all in ANH or ESB.

The first film is locked and on schedule for a early June release. (Originally listed as May which was incorrect.) Here are the details:

Original Run Time: 136 minutes
New Run Time: 93 minutes

Intention: Like many fanedits before it, my version aims to cut bad acting, bad dialog and streamline the film. I've also attempted bring the prequels in alinement with the original trilogy by cutting anything that broke continuity. I really want viewers to be able to watch Episodes 1 - 6, in order, without having key moments in the later films spoiled. Anakin no longer is C3PO's creator. In fact, C3PO and R2D2 are no longer major (minor?) characters in the PT. They are now just like any other droid. They do have minor dialog here or there, but they are never referenced by name nor are their rolls significant.

Cut List
This list is in noway complete as there are a lot of minor tweaks I'm not referencing, but it should give you a good sense of changes. I've bold the changes I think are original (though I'm no expert and haven't seen many of the SW fanedits out there) so if I'm wrong please correct me.

I have completed rough cuts of The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones, and begun work on a rough cut of Revenge of the Sith this week. One of my biggest issues with the PT is that it assumes you’ve seen the OT, but for the younger generation (and as a film fan) I want to be able to watch the series, in order, without having key moments ruined (i.e. Vader’s comment in ESB). Along with that I want to fix continuity issues between the PT and OT so that they flow better, as well as the standard cutting of unnecessary dialog and scenes.

A full cut list will be forth coming, but it is safe to say the biggies that covers all three: less Jar-Jar, Yoda doesn’t have these massive lightsaber battles (he is nearly 900 years old) and no R2D2 or C3PO. I’ve also reworked the romance in AOTC so it feels more organic.
