Maybe he refers to your dissing of David Lynch.

5/10 for me is “competent, but I don’t like it,” so I pretty well disagree as well.
Letter grades, at least in the US (can’t speak for others) are total bullshit.
he would have lost his job. Same for me if I ever get home
All time blurs together for me.
Arrival (2016) dir. Denis Villeneuve
Chyron, your presupposition, and refusal to elaborate on said presupposition, that God’s existence is completely evident and unquestionable can be frustrating. Your strong faith is quite admirable, but your behavior in this thread today is baffling.
Ratings help the man who fight his fear
Censor board’s the only thing that keeps me here
Well, yeah, of course they shouldn’t be mandatory (side note: I’m tired of being carded every time I try to buy an R-rated movie) but since they are mandatory, they should at least be not as terrible.
Cry, the Beloved Assh0le
Alt covers should be just as mandatory as the giant ratings, then.
I saw a lyric book that censored asshole as “assh*le”, but the “ass” part is the bad part, right? Why was the “hole” censored instead of that?
I think he means that, even though Ghostbusters is not a documentary, ghosts could still hypothetically exist. Or something.
Anyway, I remember a book I read several years ago written by a preacher whose soon allegedly had a near-death experience and went to heaven. Then he went on to claim that his son never actually flatlined in his surgery, so that obviously meant his son was as holy and pure as the prophet Elijah who ascended while still alive. It was ridiculous and insulting, but it’s sold as nonfiction and the kid got to play himself in his movie biopic IIRC.
My Star Trek movie set is a region free UK set. Thankfully the big ratings are on the bottom of the box, but they’re also printed on the otherwise great disc art that uses original poster art.
Adopting a star system, because after another OT/ST watch-through I’ve decided I have too many ties for a straight list to be practical. No surprises here if you’ve paid any attention to my other posts; I haven’t radically shaken up my opinion on anything. I just think this reflects my feelings better than a proper ranking.
The Empire Strikes Back
The Force Awakens
The Last Jedi
Return of the Jedi
The Phantom Menace
Attack of the Clones
Revenge of the Sith
Almost exactly mine, but I include half-stars, putting TLJ at 4.5 and thusly above TFA, and both ROTJ and R1 at 3.5, but the rest are spot on.
Maybe, but there’s always Pascal’s Wager to be afraid of.
I’d like to thank the random bump of this thread for inspiring my new stupid joke sig.
I plan to burn as few bridges as possible. I still firmly believe they mean well, they just make things rough.
My mom is starting to talk about having just discovered 9/11 trutherism and she sounds super hyper and it almost sounds like she’s starting to believe this shit…
This arose as she flipped throigh channels and came across Schindler’s List and she started asking “why do people hate Jews? They’re just people!” I was in strong agreement of course because anti-semites are vile, until she took a hard turn to say “they aren’t like the Moosluhms who blow everything up. Hey, speaking of, did you know there are whole conspiracy theories around 9/11? I just found an article on it recently, like where was the plane in the Pentagon…” and it spiraled from there.
I’m really loving everything I’ve seen from this movie so far.
Crazy how much I’ve been won over. Really lookin’ forward to this.
Count me in, too.
I love it that it looks silly and goofy and just fun…
…and the s***storm of people complaining about that is going to be ten times worse than the fan division created by TLJ.
I was gonna say that I doubt that, but then again, I guess it could.
Yeah, so this one is technically backwards, with the clasp rather than the spine facing out. But that’s the beauty of the slip cover.
You could flip the cover, where the spine would be out, the cover would just be backward, but it’s not like the spine or clasp are visable anyway.
I have Rey, just because I have all my movies facing the same direction and she happened to be on the side for that.
I do too, but I do sometimes consider removing them just for space-saving reasons. It may not seem like much of a difference, but they do add up.
I think we should follow the OP’s example.
And rate every movie “fuck out of shit”?

I’ve seen many people list Bride of Frankenstein as their favorite movie. You gave one of my favorite movies a 3 star rating, Lord of the Flies,
I gave the exact reasons for the missing star. The namesake of the picture is brushed over in a ten second shot that had no purpose.
It’s a beautiful shot that communicates the scene from the book without words. See? This is why arguing disagreements over art is so pointless. Ultimately, as far as I’m concerned I’m right and you’re wrong. And as far as you’re concerned, I’m wrong and you’re right.
The solution, of course, is to dub over that shot with Pumbaa from The Lion King.
Slipcovers: extraneous paper that wastes space, or important for the aesthetic?
