Is there a Superman (1978) + Superman II (1980) Fan Edit?
Time

Hi, has anyone worked on creating a really good fan edit of Superman I + II? If not, a fan and/or WB should do this because watching Superman II RDC after Superman doesn’t work well, mostly because of the beginning and ending. The RDC is awesome, really awesome, however Donner should have kept the original SII ending for continuity.

I thought I and II were originally supposed to be a single film, was that early in development that there is nothing to go off of to combine them now?

Well, here are my preservation files, used for the video I uploaded on YouTube some time ago and now no longer available. They are all sourced from various VHS (I have several, original and copies), and for each one I tried to select the best source, sometimes mixing differnt parts coming from different sources. I also did some video adjustment and color crrection but the final result is still bad.

Excellent stuff, thanks for this.

The X-Files (1993) Season 1 - 4 in 4X3???

So, let me get this straight: you want something you already have?

As for HD versions of seasons 1-4 in 4:3, well, let’s just say it’s highly unlikely that Fox will release it that way, if at all.

So caustic with much attitude and you’re wrong. The DVD’s aren’t 480p and prior to 2015 480p 4X3 versions were available. It’s also possible since around 2015 that 4X3 HD versions aired, that’s why I posted.

You might want to hold off doing a Superman 3 just yet as a I have a higher quality source tape (Superman III - ITV MAY-07-1990). I also have another tv broadcast coming in the post this week. I’ll add more info soon.

More info please…

I’ve now received the other tape and it turns out to be the first UK broadcast of Superman III - ITV (HTV) SEP-05-1985. I believe both tapes are higher quality then the current fanmade releases on Mysleen. I hope to upload some pics or a video sample over the weekend.

Cool, looking for a good version W/O/C.

Assuming the ITV version is in PAL, can it be restored to NTSC/Film?

The X-Files (1993) Season 1 - 4 in 4X3???
Time

Hi, anyone have 480p or HD versions of the X-Files Season 1 - 4 in 4X3?

I have the DVDs, however I think everywhere Season 1 - 4 is only in 16x9 now and 480p/720p/1080p 4X3 versions of Season 1 -4 would be better.

This link has information on the remastering, http://www.xfilesvault.com/features/Whats-Wrong-With-The-X-Files-On-Blu-ray/.

I think the 480p 4X3 versions of Season 1 -4 are better because they are in the original intended framing with only Seasons 5+ being protected for 16X9. Thank you.

Best Sources of The Keep 1983?

I’d say the HDTV 720p. Although it’s 720p and not 1080i, it is at a far higher bitrate, so I’d bet it looks better.

Great, 1080i is 540p which is worse than 720p.

Thank you very much for the replies.

Which T2 releases have the best audio? Thanks!

This is what I’d like to have:
The Terminator Remastered BD and mono audio from the Special Edition DVD
T2 Special Edition: Open-matte LD and ???

If it means anything, theres a copy of the remastered BD with the syned mono track from the LD on MySpleen. The LD mono track is MILES better than the flat sounding mono track MGM included on the Special Edition DVD. Hope this helps.

This does help and planning to read some of those threads. However, what about T2 Special Edition. Anyone know which T2 Special Edition soundtrack is best?

Interstellar - ColorMatching BluRay to 70mm
Time

The Blu-Ray is 16:9. There is no open matte version of Interstellar. The film was shot on 35mm anamorphic (2.35:1) and IMAX 65mm (1.43:1). The Bluray emulates the IMAX experience by switching between full 2.40:1 and 1.78:1 (cropped vertically from 1.43:1). The DVD is constant 2.40:1.

Thought I saw a 1.43:1 IMAX frame that on the BD is 2.35/2.40:1, has anyone else noticed this?
