Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)
Time

I've been a bit delayed in seeing both Harmy's 1997 HD SW and V2.5 despecialized edition, but I just wanted to say thanks to Harmy for both of these. Both sound and look absolutely amazing!

I haven't seen ESB v2.0 yet, but I'm kinda saving that for the right occasion at the moment.

Appreciate your hard work, and to all those who helped/were involved.

Hope you had a good Christmas and New Year.

'Raiders of the Lost Ark' - bluray and colour timing changes (Released)
Time

Has anyone captured the Raiders LD audio?

I like the warm look of the BD, but I feel the contrast could do with being a bit punchier for some scenes, so sometimes for this reason I go back to the wowow.

Trouble is, I think since the DVD, quite a lot of people have gotten used to that particular look for Raiders, I know I did, even though I grew up with the VHS for years.

Ghostbusters - Criterion PCM Track (see Jonno's post; plus lots more info) (Released)
Time

So for those who don't know, Ghostbusters 2 blu-ray has been released in the UK now, and on September 16th for the US.

I wonder how the new GB2 blu-ray compares to the HDTV broadcast, and whether the contrast etc is the same or improved?

Anyway, quite a few cinemas are playing an anniversary showing of GB1 (not sure about GB2) in 4K - probably the same 4K transfer which they trialed in 2011 before the 2013 4K blu-ray release. If it is indeed the same, please go see this - you won't be disappointed. Ghostbusters looks amazing on the big screen, especially in 4K.

Other than Jar Jar and midichlorians, what don't you want in episode 7?
Time

Big references to the PT.

I can accept that there will be some references, but I don't want it to heavily focus on it. I can live with references to planetary systems as part of the universe as well as some technology, along with vague reference to anakin's fall to the darkside, but that's about it really. But please, no more purple lightsabers and bad lightsaber choreography - as seen in AoTC and ROTS (TPM had this done a lot better imo).

Star Wars: Episode VII to be directed by J.J. Abrams **NON SPOILER THREAD**
Time

Can't believe Harrison is already working around after surgery. Harrison truly is 100% the real life action hero.

I really want him to have a big part in Episode VII that does his character justice. I'm still getting over the disappointment of Indy 4, where I felt the film let down Harrison's dedication to the role. :-(

Harmy's THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK Despecialized Edition HD - V2.0 - MKV & AVCHD (Released)
Time

Harmy, have you see any of the stills from the sets of Empire? Obviously they aren't a reference print, but they could give you some direction for some of the colours, maybe.

I think the overall look of the catwalk/bridge duel looks great though, and understand your point about the balance of the colours for the scene and lightsabers.

The third part of the duel looks fantastic Harmy.

Did you use the 1997 version as one of your reference points? The colour seems quite close to that.

I'm not sure what colour the catwalk/bridge is supposed to be, because every source has a slightly different colour, but I noticed some of your shots were more grey and others more blue. My interpretation is that the material on the bridge is more grey (RE: metal material seen in interior of Star Destroyers such as the Bridge). Having said all that, the seen takes place in a facility that is not the interior of a Star Destroyer, so I don't know whether we can say it would definitely be the same type of material or not.
