There’s nothing wrong with either of them.

Uhh… yeah.

Nope. Attractive women are not bad.

No, they’re not, but some representations of them are bad.

Like Natalie Portman wearing a revealing dress?

EDIT: You do realized that this is probably incredibly offensive to the models and actresses that you’re complaining about? “You’re body is problematic and harmful to women. You shouldn’t dress that way!” I bet hearing that would be pretty insulting.

You also write “uhh… yeah.” as though it’s just incredibly baffling that someone could not see that those images are horrifying and misogynist. Well, they aren’t. They haven’t hurt anybody and there’s nothing wrong with either of them. As I said in another thread, I don’t believe that women are so weak and fragile that mere images such as those are going to crush their souls. I also don’t think that men are so brain dead that they’ll see images like those and then think that they have the right to treat women like shit. The original Star Wars poster has an image of a muscular Luke with his shirt torn open. Either that image is just as bad as these images (which is insane), or neither of them are bad, but the double standard is incredibly obnoxious.

Do you think Disney will release the unaltered versions for DVD and blue ray?

I meant if there was perhaps a clause in this deal that prevents the OUT from ever being released which some have hypothesized before. Me personally I don’t think that’s the case. As you said once the deals done it’s done. I was implying that we don’t know for sure if anything OUT related was put in writing in the deal other than its out of Lucas’ hands which at which point we just ruled out our own theory.

I don’t think he was totally opposed to it; I just don’t think it was on his radar and he had to justify not doing it. It’s hard work to restore a film, especially since he felt compelled to oversee all of it.

That cartoon isn’t misogynist. I don’t believe that women are so incredibly weak that a cartoon is a threat to their security and well-being.

No, Frink’s right. Once I saw that drawing, I stumbled out of my room and started beating my wife.

Oh come on. I absolutely HATE this argument. Misogynist things don’t make you go and be misogynist — that’s stupid. What it does, however, is contribute to a culture where these things are OK. That’s the bad thing.

Does it contribute to a culture in which people unreasonably expect women who dress as cats to be attractive?

I’m not sure if that’s the mindset or if it’s just the notion that any sexualized image of a female (even a fake cartoon one who dresses like a cat) is some horrible assault on the entirety of womankind.

So, do you hate the leather suit because it doesn’t show off the bewbs, or do you just hate leather jumpsuits? Or is it the lack of a real mask? Or is it that the hair is tucked in? All of the above?

It’s lame, generic, unimaginative, uninspired, etc, etc, etc.

Reasonable. I was just curious if there was a specific aspect(s) that made it your “most loathed”.

I would have to say that my favourite Catwoman suit is:

Followed by the one in B:TAS.

Hahahahahahaha.

Some people never grow up, apparently. Either that or their target audience consists solely of immature boys.

Most likely the latter.

This is the kind of horseshit that I find incredibly obnoxious. This is imperialscum-level conceit. We’re all posting on a Star Wars website; stop fucking telling everyone that their personal taste and hobbies are stupid, childish, or “immature”.

He not only speaks Japanese, he actually lives in Japan.

I thought he says he’s only been in Japan

I remembered him saying that he’s in Japan currently, but I guess I could be wrong.

I’m not convinced.

Really? Because to me, there is great evidence that he does live in Japan.

Nah I didn’t listen to that piece of shit, just wanted to add to “Worst Album Covers” list.

I’ve literally made better album covers than that using MS Paint.

It looks absolutely horrible. The worst thing about it isn’t even how horrible it looks, but rather, it looks cheap. It’s like Times New Roman Font on a solid background with low-res jpg files. I’m also not even sure if the indentation is a mistake or not on the top line.

Compare that trash with this album cover:

This cover probably cost next to nothing to make, but it looks great and doesn’t look cheap and lazy.

You’re only a victim when you let yourself be.

Everyone is a victim of something in the literal sense of the word, but yes, people choose to live life as a victim. I try to have sympathy in some cases though.

Definitely true. I think what I meant was more along the lines of “Don’t let having been a victim define you as a person.”

Exactly. This is something that I’m glad that I learned young. Sadly, a significant portion of my old friends never did learn this.
