I agree jarbear. That’s why I suggested we put the Sith eyes when she hisses, and also when she is on the Sith throne instead of milky eyes.
Oh and the throne part, that would be good place too.
It’s canon that the Sith had a prophecy, except it was about the dyad. So both organizations did have a prophecy that turned out to not be in their favor.
Where in the movie does it tell us that?

Right now, RogueLeader and I are figuring out a new dagger inscription for Sith-3PO to say, then I’ll have a go at recording it, and see how it goes.

If this is not part of the idea … but almost like a “prophesy” idea … or Sith one … could be used for the idea? The Jedi had theirs … which from the sequels did not really pan out (Made a big deal about the force being balanced, finally, … and then … whoops, just kidding! Everything is back to the way it was!) the Sith one can be something about like the Heir/(something) will take the throne from the ashes of the Emperor who ruled the galaxy … something something.
Of course you guys are working it out and the key will be the crew needing to go to endor. If that can be accomplished and the dagger’s sith whispers are really apparent or whatever to “guide” Rey. It. Would. Be. Amazing.

I personally viewed his eyes more of a decaying body than anything else. Which, we saw his deformed hands too, so I personally don’t see a connection of Sithy-ness of his eyes. If anything, the yellow eyes are pretty much the only thing associated with it.

I would love if it was possible to redub the dagger translation to make it more ancient. Not sure anything could make it logical about Endor though.
I think someone already mentioned it, but I love how Rey says regarding the dagger, “Horrible things have happened with this.” While in her other hand she holds a lightsaber that literally slaughtered everyone in the Jedi Temple and killed a room full of children.
I like the dialogue change btw.
Removal of that line asides from that point is also wise too since it’s kinda weird how “selective” her seeing things was with the dagger. She could sense the terrible things the dagger did at that moment, but not how it killed her parents at that moment?
Not saying that is a major/minor plot hole, and I’m sure some book/tweet explains it, but why not remove the possible confusion.
Replace all the actors/actresses/aliens/ with different people or graphics in TLJ, but keep TFA and TROS as the same since 2 movies use the same director but TLJ has a different one.
I’d imagine it would be pretty easy to do yourself. Seems like quite the small change to warrant an entirely new release.
Also it would make the scene in TROS come out of literally nowhere.

Well, I mean the idea of we see a broken x wing in the water to seeing it come out of the water without a problem.
I got no skill in vfx, but if the x-wing can be shown as intact in the water, then that would really fix any plot holes. Thats all I meant in regards to that.
Can the X wing shot be removed completely?
It gives me a certain sense of power realizing that I could probably propose changing just about any single line in this movie and watch the ensuing battle as people slowly realize all over again that thinking about the line for more than a minute shatters the illusion of the film’s world.

I guess it’s about time for another “where are we” post. By my records, here’s everything currently outstanding. Things that, if they were suddenly all turned in, I would begin encoding:
Sherlockpotter’s idea to remove Lando line “Leia sent me a transmission” (I just haven’t done it yet)
Depict Kylo’s TIE with a different color stripe after his first one gets blowed up (poppasketti working on it)
Have Rey’s saber sputter or crap out a little at end of DSII duel (Movies Remastered working on)
Have both sabers spark and smoke like it’s Friday night after Palpatine gets blowed up (Movies Remastered working on, or perhaps is finished)
Pasaana puppet show with Luke being a legend (snooker and/or RogueLeader filming and compositing elements - will also need a vocal dub to replace the one or two lines with something about Skywalker)
Remaining footage of the crackly blue saber (I believe Movies Remastered is helming the shots that weren’t already done by kewlfish or Luka Frik)
Fixed Jedi haircut footage from jonh to then be run through by NeverAr for regrading
So clearly there’s still several things outstanding but they are being tracked and will all come together in time. For the thousandth time, you’re all awesome and it’s an ongoing privilege to steer us along.
That’s a good reminder of the “main” things to get done. Of course some good discussion for other ideas is good, like this Lando line. Since it has been decided, I am fine with how it is. The only kinda … strange thing … the movie does is the exchange between him and Rey about the “give Leia my love” line. It’s kinda strange since it kinda … was … implying they don’t talk … but didn’t he literally “got off the phone” with Leia about finding the crew? I am not sure what the point of that exchange was nor the reason for it.
But regardless, I don’t care much about his “I got a call about you guys” … but the one that sticks out is Rey’s kinda strange “Tell that to her yourself” … kinda implying they don’t talk but we know they just did? Kinda seemed unnecessary.
To put it simply, TRoS is a soft reboot of TLJ, it walked back on everything TLJ did, it regressed the state of the characters and story to the way it was at the end of TFA and pushed them back into the old mold. I think the main divide comes from people who are frustrated at TRoS and want to minimize that walk back from TLJ as much as possible, and people who liked that TRoS went back to doing the same old stuff and don’t want to see it trimmed too much to gel better with the previous movie. The stance I can’t reconcile with is acting like TRoS is a perfectly fine continuation of TLJ and that it all makes perfect sense if you really think about it.

All of this relentless back and forth doesn’t get us anywhere. It is fine and encouraged to state your opinions, but we’ll rarely, if ever, argue someone to our side. Nothing anyone is saying is wrong, it’s just that different story elements speak to each of us differently based on our own experiences. We have to accept that the story elements that we value most may not be as important to someone else. There is no “true” interpretation of the story or characters, just what they speak to us and our lives. Probably the best we can say is that a better developed and written trilogy might have had fewer offending elements to the fandom in general. Getting off my horse now.

Although I will say that whatever George said in the past about Star Wars should be taken seriously at the very least. Unfortunately, he never really has commented on things such as Palpatine’s overarching role in the saga (as far as I’m aware).
I don’t think I’ve read/heard anything, just that he represents the “pure evil” kind of thing. But did Lucas have a role for him past 6 … Nope.

If confined without adjusting the previous movies (7 & 8) then I personally would not have a redeemed kylo and he is the main baddy due to the events mainly from Last Jedi.
He got rid of snoke, the one who manipulated him and was used (as Han said in 7) and when it was time to choose what to do … he wanted to stay as Space Nazi leader. Let alone wanted to “kill” Luke later … so pretty
Much without anyone manipulating him and being used by the dark side … he double downs on it.

Edit: I viewed the new shamook stuff and blending it with Burbin’s “filler” shots … and dear lord it’s amazing looking. The movies used a lot of out of focus shots on Tarkin when his face wasn’t straight on that made it pretty dang seamless to do. Wow!

As for the line topic for Exegol, I’m happy that the 16 hour timer is removed so anything else is fine on my watch. Lol. When you think about it, everything about the Exegol sequence has plenty of logic holes and all. Can you fix it all? Nah, since fundamentally (like this movie) has issues that can’t be fixed … but can at least be patched up as well as possible. So my vote, personally, is whatever Hal wants, since I’m already happy with the timer being removed. (seriously, everything happens in 1 day? That’s realistic when speaking about events spread out through AN ENTIRE GALAXY. Not sure what JJ and Rian’s obsession with timers.)
Now, for the Leia stuff. I hope I wasn’t being harsh, just being honest and I still applaud any effort to help add to the movie. If the audio can be adjusted to fit with the scene, then hey, that’ll be great. However, it sticks out since the line doesn’t fit with Leia’s next line.
It’s like in TV shows where you have some obviously added lines or re-dubbed lines in a scene. Which, in TV shows that happens since it is faster pace and they shoot multiple angles and need to re-dub lines by the actor in a sound booth, which would not match the scene where they shoot in a room, outside, etc. etc. It will sound a bit different and you know it’s a re-dubbed line.
So again, I am not trying to be harsh at all and say “NOT GOING TO WORK, STOP IT!” I am supportive of it IF it can match or it does stick out. The reason it sticks out, again, is you have her natural scene line and the two conflict with one another. So if it can be adjusted thoroughly to help it match with the scene, then that would be fine!
@jar Jar, same response/thought that I like the idea, but doesn’t quite work. Unless the audio matches or nearly matches it sticks out. But again, I like the idea of trying to add a little more to Leia’s lines in this movie.
My goodness those clone lines both sound and feel off.
As for the removal of the grevious line, I get it since it didn’t really make sense when you think about it.
If one was to add something to it to extend the scene or at least make it feel not so “cut,” having Grevious say something like:
“You fool! I’ve been trained by Count Dooku to deal with your jedi arts.”
Or something like that to extend the shot. Actually, something like that would have been better originally since I didn’t know Dooku could extend 2 more arms and spin them. Amazing.
That would be interesting to see.
