There are a few MUSE captures floating around the interwebs, but no movies. Just the HD video productions (look for Ferrari of the Art), which have always been said to be higher quality than the film transfers (because telecines sucked then).
The rest of what you said was utterly meaningless. We aren't comparing two files from different sources, we are comparing one source and the transcode of that source. There is no way to make a transcode more transparent than the file it's coming from.
The ATI TV Wonder HD 750 USB does not have a 3D comb filter, by the way. Only the PCIe card.
A professional 1080p scan of Star Wars would only cost $550 (well, if the place I'm talking about would scan copyrighted movies - they did a trailer for me). Much less than the cost of the HLD-X0.
4K would be a lot more: $5000 at the place I just looked at.

Interesting that the edges are clean on the Canal+ and not on the WOWOW. I would say Marty's face holds up better on the Canal+ in the frame you chose.
(BTW, what did you use to make the PNGs? My MSPaint recompression of your Canal+ image is half the size.)

Why are we doing detail comparisons on an "HDTVRip 1080p"? The original file is a 15GB 1080i.

Visions of Light (1992) randomly included a few shots of this Star Wars sequence near the end, so I’m just curious what they used. Here’s the color bars from the same disc to show the calibration.
1. People see D-Theater and think that means it is better than a compressed HDTV feed, which is normally true.
2. The HDTV is not OAR.
The HD DVD and Blu-ray of the first movie use identical VC-1 tracks. Only the third movie differs and only in two parts.
The color timing difference originated on the DVD re-release, not the HD release.
Your first video is about Super Beta which is not the same thing.
Had no idea Star Wars was released on Betamax. Only PAL?

Not with any consumer-level capture device. They generate the data in YUV before converting to RGB if that's what you select as the output.
A guy on AVS once posted BTTF shots he claimed came from the DCP. Maybe just kidding around and posting WOWOW frames. I don't know how the compression/grain level on that compares.

Intel display adapter? Mine causes these decoding defects in a lot of videos. If you turn off DXVA and use software decoding they should go away.
It does have a logo in the bottom-right for a short while, I think about halfway through.

Some screenshots comparing Starkiller and althor1138 for 1982 P&S LD. I shifted the latter capture 6px to the left to match the first one.
