It’s more jarring than the original, without a doubt. Although, I do like that Mark Hamill’s face is flipped back to normal now. I think that’s the main giveaway.

Can’t say I found any issue with those shots flipped back, I followed along fine with where the barge was heading and the other ships location to it.

I quite agree. The viewer can follow the action just fine, and quite frankly I’m seriously struggling to see why it was flipped in the first place, as IMHO this version is infinitely superior. The only possible quibble from pedants I can see is that when they finally arrive at the Sarlacc the skiffs are now on the barge’s left side instead of the right, but since they’re all flying vehicles with vast space around them on all sides, and we don’t witness the entire trip, surely it’s not beyond the wit of the viewer to assume the skiff moved to the other side at some point before the journey’s end? Donald Trump might struggle to understand it, but regular humans with at least double-digit IQs won’t. I didn’t watch that clip and think, ‘My God! The skiff’s teleported!’

Anyway, visually speaking, AOTC et ROTS looks like an old video game, I don’t disagree.
My point is that if we talk about the scenario (and not about the visual aspect), R1 is a long and boring linear “shoot them up” game, especially the last battle (where is the big button to transmit the plans ? How, here it is !)

The argument that two CGI characters don’t look very convincing has nothing to do with the scenario, as you say in your second sentence. so that isn’t a point supporting your assertion that R1 is like a video game.

The simplicity of having to press the big transmit button, sure, that i can buy, it does seem like a very simple puzzle, in fact it does remind me of Myst.

I don’t play Battlefront, but why exactly does this remind your friend of that game? is it because the game has an overlapping plot? that this is a movie with an epic battle?

I’ve only watched that once a long time ago but it didn’t quite seem to be the same style. I guess it was the thanks Frink.

I’ve seen the first four episodes and it actually started to get interesting part way through the third episode in my opinion. I still really do not enjoy the Klingons for a lot of reasons but I have never enjoyed the Klingons in almost any of the Star Trek series.

It may be a new series, but if I am not mistaken, this is not considered a reboot. As far as I know, Discovery is suppose to take place in the same universe as TOS, nextgen, and the other series’.
