Who Framed Roger Rabbit? - uncensored HDTV airing(s) (Released)
Time

The 24.94 gb torrent is the original uncensored mkv with as near to the original bluray quality as I could get.  OldSkoolFan's AVCHD torrents are smaller versions for those that wanted something with a more manageable size.

I just realized that I never did upload the uncensored version of Trail Mix-Up anywhere.  I need to fix that.

Info: Our projects released thread
Time

I got the discs from Dark Jedi a few days ago.  I haven't had the time to view most of them yet but I did check out the Maximum Overdrive disc.  It's a really nice package.  The menus work well with animation that doesn't bog down the interface and the bonus features are really interesting.

The scenes I sampled from the movie looked great overall though there were definitely some limitations in the source materials that were available.  Team Blu did a really good job though.  This one is definitely worth getting.  I liked the feature that lets you view segments of the movie with only the AC-DC music.  It was a nice alternative to an isolated score.

Transformers: The Movie (1986 animated version) (a WIP)

Ok, I'm near the end of the tunnel as far as compiling all the content.  I just need to finish up a couple of galleries of pre-production materials and stuff like promotional posters and materials. The galleries actually took a lot more time than I thought the would.  I have a lot of material to go through.

I've lost contact with the group that was going to help get all the material compiled onto a single blu-ray so I may need to figure out a backup plan if I can't get back in touch with them.

Info Wanted: HD Broadcast Question...
Time

The reason varies. There are many HDTV transfers were created long before there was a blu-ray release.  In some cases, the HD transfers were created when the DVD release was being remastered so that they would be ready for HDTV or HD video when it was available.  During the time that HD-DVD and Blu-Ray were duking it out, a few companies created initial transfers and waited to see what format would win out.  There were also HDTV transfers that were created straight off the film or negative without as much processing because they were created for HDTV and there was no video release confirmed for the immediate future.  With TV broadcast, a lot of presentation standards are lower than those of a video release so DNR, EE, color and contrast adjustment, etc... are not used as heavily.  When a film is released on video, these "enhancements" are generally made to try and make the film look more like modern releases so it is more attractive to casual viewers.

As far as Mokushiroku, I will only be including segments.  The digital version I have had some other stuff added onto the beginning that's not part of the original tape but it seems to be missing a couple of other non-movie-related segments in the process.  If I can get a better digital transfer off of the original tape, it might be a project on it's own.

As far as the lines in that pan, fixing them isn't difficult, just time consuming since I would have to edit them out frame-by-frame.  I've considered a couple of more involved projects for later, including an enhanced version of the movie that fixes most of the fixable animation errors and maybe a restoration of the "Transformers The Movie: Reconstructed" video without all the blended fields, so maybe I'll leave them in this version since they would have been in the original presentation, and remove them for a later project.

I'm in the process of assembling all the slideshow galleries now.  I have a lot of material to compile, so it's taking a while.

Ok, I could use some feedback on something, if anyone is still watching this thread.  I've done a number of small fixes to remove some of the more obvious scratches and spots that showed up on the original 1080p transfer.  There is one scene I'm not sure if I should fix, though.

After the back of the shuttle is blown up, there is a pan that has two vertical lines running down it.  They looked like thin film scratches at first but upon closer inspection, they are an artifact from the animation process.  Should these be removed or left in place since they were animation flaws and not actual film flaws?

You can see an example of what I'm referring to here:

Yeah, pans and zooms are often done at 24fps while the cel animation is done at 12fps, so you may get a few frames where both fields are blended and can't be restored but, usually, at least one of the fields will have the animated parts without blending.  If the blending is limited to the background on pans and zooms, it's usually not as noticeable.  The biggest problem is the fact that you may only have one unblended field to work with for some of the frames, so that frame will take a hit in picture quality.

If the source videos are interlaced, have you tried unfolding the fields?  The animation itself was done at 12 frames per second so, even with field blending, you should be able to get at least one field that is clean for each frame of animation.  If your source videos are no longer interlaced, this won't work, though.
