All Things Star Trek
Time

That's a very good point and I agree with it. Although honestly I would say that Star Trek is a much stronger franchise at this point. Star Wars has a couple movies that are better than anything star trek ever did, granted. But Star Wars also has alot of shit in it while star trek is much more consistently good, or at least consistently not a piece of shit.

Star Trek is far from soulless. Star Trek is so very human it overwhelms me (the original and next generation at least). There is a place in the world for both Star Wars and Star Trek, and even George Lucas has admitted to being a Trekkie. There is no other modern franchise which handles such topics as human decency and morals as well as star trek while still being entertaining.

Video Games - a general discussion thread
Time

I've been playing the Zelda games for n64 (ocarina of time and majoras mask) on the pc connected to my hdtv with an hdmi cable, rendering all graphics at 1080P and with a custom texture pack that replaces low res graphics (which already look better upscaled) with hi res textures, and the pack is over 20 times the size of the entire game, it's a whole new experience, and it looks beautiful. It no longer looks like a n64 game. The models look SLIGHTLY out of date now, but even they have been touched up and look better than they did. (new images for their eyes and clothes for example). But the backgrounds, the skies, the walls, everything else looks like it's out of a PS3 game. No joke. If your a n64 or a zelda fan and you've never played these games with enhanced textures, make sure you do sometime, as the results are truly breathtaking and give a whole new experience yet while still having the same feel. I actually think it looks far superior than the 3ds remake as it is much truer to the original game, except it's in HD.

Fyi, these screenshots don't do it justice. The difference between them isn't very noticeable at this resolution, but in the actual gameplay where it's shown at full 1080P, it's truly astounding.

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

Oh yes. I'm not criticising or saying it's a rip off or anything. I understand. I'm just pointing out how high interests are. It's just kind of a strange feeling you know. Going thru my teen years waiting for a movie to be released. Now in college and working... still waiting for the same movie to be released. I'm sure it will be worth it tho!

Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)
Time

Lol this reminds me of what I used to do when I first discovered fan edits. I put scotch tape over the guards on my official star wars vhs tapes and taped over the official versions of TPM, AOTC, and ROTS with fanedits. Actually I did the same for ROTJ too. And for Star Wars, I taped over the original with Revisited. (I have 3 vhs copies of star wars don't worry, I didn't do it to all 3 of them lol).

Idea: HD restoration of the Phantom Edits..
Time

I will just make my own trilogy then. And no I'm not taking your posts seriously or taking offense to them or anything like that. It's more of a "well, this is their reaction to this topic, so I assume that none of them really give a hoot" type of thing. Sorry if you thought I was offended at any individual members, because I wasn't. And I was playing to make my own trilogy, but I probably won't share it. I'm not going to change the titles of the movies and I'm not going to remove everything that makes the movies what they are... you guys wouldn't like it.

Cuz whoever said something about the slumberland edits I agree they were awesome, and seeing those in HD would be sweet. Does anybody know if the stereo track in his edit is pro logic compatible? Because I usually prefer that anyway, I downconvert files before I burn movies to watch them. But since his only has a stereo track, I hope it's not just a downmix without dolby surround capabilities
