On a slightly more related note: it’s hard to get an idea of scale from the photos - how large was the hangar model?

9ft L x 6ft W x 3-4ft H. It was made 1/72 scale

Holy Crap! Is this for real?! That Wampa looks sick. I can’t wait to see it in action.

Good to see things moving along, Ady!

You spoke too soon! It looks like that certain user has found a new obsession.

Cd/DVD Guard??

I have not used sealer. I did have an issue with printing the inserts and such on my HP; they were really smudgy, so I ditched it and use a Canon to print everything. No more problems. Plus, it has been my experience that the heat from the player will “cure” the disc label…

I have trade that these sprays can keep the ink from smudging if and when they get wet and fading over time. But I didn’t know if the new disc printers and printable discs were more reliable in this aspect or not

Cd/DVD Guard??

Now that I have a printer that allows me to print directly to a disc, I have come across this little product http://www.genesysdtp.com/cddvdguard.htm
I was just wondering if this stuff works, and is necessary, or if it will ruin the disc. The whole reason I decided to get an inkjet printer that would print on the disc itself was because I heard/read that the extra weight added by paper labels actually could cause a disc to become unreadable because of uneven glue. I just don’t want to buy this stuff and it metimorphisize perfectly good discs into coasters.

Also as a side note, this site sells digitrays for anyone interested in making there own digipak. That’s actually how I found this stuff.

Do you happen to know a guy by the name of jedimasterobiwan?

I think they’re likely as separate as Chancellor Palpatine and Darth Sidious.

I highly doubt that, I mean it’s possible bit i don’t see the motivation.

I think the motivation would be that since he’s been scolded more than a few times, he probably set up a second account in case his first gets banned. The sentence structure and language used is just too similar between the two posters. Of course, it could also be a troll trying to “emulate” Obi-Wanspeak but I’ve got a sneaking suspicion that’s not the case.

I think that is unlikely. sentence structure (or the lack there of) is not really an indicator. I think it’s just common for millennials to not have any web etiquette and a small vocabulary.

Here are NeverarGreat’s two R2 scenes with proper audio and fully formatted. The only thing missing is a few sound effects for BB8 (head turns and rolling away). Anyone have any isolated FX already I could use?

these look great!
it really fixes the issue of r2 randomly turning on at the end

Given the restructuring of the film this project implements, the only way to remove Snoke’s identification of Kylo’s parentage would be to remove the first Snoke scene entirely. We wouldn’t meet him until a smash cut to after the interrogation scene. Even if it weren’t outside the scope of the project, it’d be a little tough to pull off at the same time as the other stuff.
But the nice thing is that this edit will be available to any and all whom would like to take or modify it further. That’s part of why I’d like to A) make it solid and seamless, and B) stick to the original focus.

Fair enough. Looking forward to the finished product

This edit is shaping up to be the best one yet. SirRidley, you’ve done some great work! I know this edit is only to restructure the SKB shots. But I would love to see a version of this edit where Kylo wasn’t blatantly called out as Han’s son so early in the film. I feel it’s more powerful to be left at the end, just before the SKB fires.

Also, not to rock the boat, but I have to disagree with the comment made about “those beasts” I love it and am glad you are keeping it in.

Custom Slim Case DVD Box Set (Complete Trilogy)
Time

I have been visiting this section of the forums for a while now and have been amazed by some of the great work that has been accomplished. Seeing all of the tender love and care you all have put into creating your own custom boxes/covers for the Star Wars franchise (mainly the OT) has inspired me to make for myself my own custom set. I have also been working on my own edits of the prequel trilogy. So to go along with my edits I have made my very own box set that will eventually be part of a “Complete Saga” Set that will include the PT, OT and ST when all have been released.

The technique I have used is the same that Ronwlim has been using to make his sets found here: http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/ronwlims-custom-bluray-casesbox-set/id/47474/page/4
which he got the idea here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3QvlNLE0Iw

To construct the box I used black conservation board which I bought from Hobby Lobby that was 1/16 thick, but you can use any black core mounting board a suppose. After measuring the sizes I needed I then used a sharp Olfa knife to cut the board down to size. I then glued all the pieces together with superglue.

After designing the artwork, I used Elmers Craft Bond spray adhesive and applied the art to the box.

any and all comments or critiques would be appreciated

I haven’t finished the cover for ROTS yet so the picture shows my temp cover and the blank case will be extras/special features which I have not designed the cover to yet either. Though, any ideas would be much appreciated. If anyone would be interested in the files, let me know.

I will be updating this post as I finish the other 2 boxes and art work

You say your ‘interest in the Revisited project has long since fizzled out’, and yet you still find the time to troll this forum with your worthless opinion. And your opinion is worthless on this forum if all you’re doing is posting here to complain about the fact that the project is taking longer than you personally would like it to, that you would rather Ady did something different to what he’s actually going to with regards to releasing it, and to grumble that you’re no longer interested in the project.

If you don’t like it here, why don’t you leave?

Oh, shut up. I hang out in other threads here. I’m not trolling; I just have an opinion, and decided to convey it. I did say “Ady can do what he wants.” It’s his project, not mine. And the forum exists, not just to follow projects, but to have conversations about them.

I don’t have to leave just because you take personal offense for no reason.

And I’m not “entitled.” I just wish I had something to tide me over because I really don’t care about any OT SE edits other than this one, nor any offical releases post-GOUT, so the only SEs that I acknowledge at all are what Adywan is doing with them.

Damn it, I make one negative comment and you guys are ready to throw me out an airlock. Grow up.

Well before I do ‘shut up’ (thank you for that, by the way. Very mature)

You’re welcome. Nice to know people aren’t allowed to show indignance when you jump down their throats.

I would point out that it was you that claimed in your first post that your ‘interest in the Revisited project has long since fizzled out’

Yes. I only pay cursory attention to it once in a great while. I follow it on Facebook, but you know how that can go when things show up on your news feed that you only partially pay attention to.

and then in your second post that you ‘don’t care about any OT SE edits other than this one’.

Okay. No, I don’t. I refuse to watch the official Blurays, particularly Jedi; and I pay zero attention to any other OT edits, primarily because Ady set such a high bar for ANH:R. I don’t need to watch a version of Jedi with no Ewoks.

HD restorations of the OOT on the other hand: I’m all about that. Yay, Harmy.
Well… there is the Ridiculous Saga, but I don’t count that because it’s not serious.

Can you make up your mind please?

I can have once been super excited about Revisited but not have had significant interest in it in recent years, while still wishing for something. I imagine a lot of people, who don’t know about (or bother with) downloading fanedits or preservations, have similar feelings about waiting for official HD versions of the OOT to come from Disney.

Good things come to those who wait.
I don’t know why there are so many people on this forum that act like heroin addicts that haven’t had a hit in the past few days. We are in the home stretch. Believe it or not there are things that are more important than Star Wars and the revisited saga. Everyone just chill and take a breath. This is supposed to be fun.

Won’t this process leave white edges from the paper of your finished box is all black?

Because I’m a perfectionist and you are right that it would leave white edges, I carefully use a black marker to color the paper edges 😃.

As am I! I am working on my own custom box using the “Make” method with spray adhesive. Does the masking tape cause any issues when gluing the actual art on the box?

I used paper tape so I’ve had no issues.

I was thinking of using super glue to glue the chipboard together to make the box, then wrapping the artwork around it. This way I will avoid any issues with the art sticking to the tape or there being a visible area where the tape is.

AVCHD Authoring Help
Time

I recently finished an edit and successfully burned a dvd9 of my edit. But after reading online that the quality of an AVCHD is much better, I am seriously considering remaking my DVD to fit this format using DVD9 discs. However, I have absolutely no experience with this format. I have been using DVDLab Pro to make DVDs. I have been unsuccessful in finding a tutorial or sufficient information on creating an AVCHD disc with motion menus and such. My question is this:
What is the best program to use for authoring an AVCHD disc with motion menus. I would like for my disc to look as professional as possible. I was looking at Tmpgenc Authoring Works, but free/cheap is nice too!

So how exactly are you making the boxes themselves sturdy? Me friend and I just made two of your Star Wars boxes but the slip cases that the blu-ray cases go in are very very thin and fragile and honestly I’m afraid I’m going to break them. So for the Indiana Jones one how did you make it so sturdy?

I use a thick cardboard stock called Chipboard. Got some 12x12 black pieces through Amazon. It’s a little over 1mm thick. I cut pieces to size and use paper tape to construct the initial box. I then print the artwork onto photo paper, cut, and use a spray adhesive to attach it to the chipboard box. I’m sure others have a different process, but this works for me.
