I saw it a few days ago. Good film. Very kick ass. Here's hoping the inevitable sequel's just as good.

Why do PT defenders and such keep claiming the OT was badly written as well ?!
Time

Yeah, I remember the defense for the Phantom Menace was that, it is a Star Wars movie and so the plot isn't suppose to make sense. Then later after episode two came out, acting, come on, it is a Star Wars movie, it is suppose to be bad acting. Lame dialogue, come on it is a Star Wars movie, it is suppose to have lame dialogue.

Maybe having grown up with the movies I am a little biased, but I have always found the plot of the OT to be very tangible, the acting to be decent enough, and the dialogue has never seemed lame to me.

As far as films go, I would say Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back are about as near perfect as you get. The reason why they are so popular and elements of them have become popular culture, is because so many people went to see them. Why? Because they were great films. They were not summer blockbusters that were forgotton a short time later. Do you think we will be quoting lines such as "This is Sparta!" 30 years from now? Not likely. But I have no doubt people will still be quoting the OT 30 years from now.

At anyrate, the OT was very well written. People who claim the PT is just as well written as the OT have no idea what they are talking about.

I agree.

I'll give Episode One something...
Time
The only nice things I can think to say about Episode 1 is that most of the fight scenes are well executed, the 3-way Duel of Fates being undeniably well staged, and the music was good for the most part. Other than that, it was a very hollow & empty film, devoid emotion and/or sincerity.

Is George Lucas a fan of Star Wars?
Time
If he's trapped by Star Wars, it's his own fault. He never made much of an effort to direct anything after classic Star Wars or in between the prequels. Hard to be known for other things when didn't make more of an effort to direct afterwards.

Great quote from his ex-wife BTW.

Heath Ledger dead at 28
Time
I heard about coming home from work. Very shocking and still feels unreal, I still can't believe that he's really dead. A tragic end for a man who had a promising future.

Rest In Peace, Mr. Ledger.

Aunt May got shot by one of Kingpin's men (they were aiming for Peter and screwed up); so instead of doing the logical thing and get one of the many capable healers in the Marvel U, Peter Parker makes a deal with Mephisto (remember that devil guy from the Ghost Rider movie? Yeah, him). The deal: Aunt May survives alive and well, but Peter's marriage to MJ and all memory of it vanish from the timeline. Harry Osborn is back alive, apparently having lived in Europe for all the years since his death. Nobody remembers Spiderman's identity, but some things, such as his tenure with the Avengers, are still canon... somehow.

END SPOILERS

I wonder if this is somehow influenced by the Sam Raimi movies... but yeah, all the same, pretty f***ing stupid.

I heard that they're prepping a Green Lantern film with Hal Jordan as the lead character. I think Greg Berlanti is the name of the guy who's supposed to direct it. Ideas on who should play Hal? I'd recommend Nathan Fillion for Hal. Some other guys have said Jim Caviezel for Hal even though he looks nothing like Hal and doesn't quite fit Hal's persona, not to mention the Jesus typecasting as well as the fact that Jim's gonna be 40 this year and studios seem hellbent against casting anyone in that age range to play superheroes.

OMFG. Did anyone read that Spidey arc? JMS just totally knocked over the status-quo at Amazing Spider-Man.

I heard the basic idea and didn't like what I heard.
