To be fair, the Coruscant shot has the aftermath of a ‘Holdo maneuver,’ which is why it appears almost static as opposed to the other shots with falling destroyers.

Looked at it a second time. I don’t think anyone would’ve had a problem with it if it were onscreen in the cinema.
Well once everything mapped out is completed and ready, I’ll move on it. Things may come up before then, and that’s fine. I know this edit won’t feature every good idea that will eventually emerge, but it’ll be a good starting point for anyone to carry forward.
Who knows? It’ll probably be close to December anyway.

It’s certainly promising. It still feel like it needs a bigger sense of scale by slowing down its movement and the speed of the smoke. I wonder how fast it’d have to be moving to have that apparent speed from the planet’s surface. I do like it a great deal, though.

With help from Sir Ridley, we overlaid a subtle Emperor’s theme to the Imperial March as we first see the helmet in TFA.
For my ‘Yub Nub’ version of my ROTJ project, there are two entire scenes sourced from 4K83. I found that gradually fading in some film grain and/or gradually fading it out afterward to be useful. They’re just too different. However, if I were ducking between sources very often I imagine a layer of new grain over all UHD footage would be necessary.

And I don’t have any capability to modify the Naboo clip beyond simple things that a monkey could do. If anyone wants to darken the smoke, apply more layers, or do any other work, I can send you the raw clip as snooker sent it to me.

Lol, I don’t really see a way to. I could make it an inappropriate meta-joke and have the volume on his line decrease noticeably as he says it.
Not now, but I can give that a try and see. Perhaps if I can stretch the portion of the clip prior to the flash to fit, that may be better.

FWIW, I think it’s just a tad abrupt cutting out Poe’s line about 3PO’s volume control, so I’m going to just leave it alone.

I currently already have the entire movie edited together with the existing sound, so that’s ready to go unless something compellingly better comes up. I just pitch shifted Kylo’s crackling saber up a little. It only needs to be a subtle effect, so it’s not super audible very often. There was a clip of just the sound a couple pages back, but I don’t have any footage yet to show the whole thing together.

Luke prominently reclaimed his identity as expressed through that lightsaber at the end of TLJ. And TROS needs for that to be his saber for its story, so I don’t think it’d be a good idea to try to obscure that.
I still don’t really feel it’s necessary to score the arrival of the fleet, and I agree it’s a bit too triumphant for the scene.
And I don’t really care what something says about the length of the Clone Wars. Nothing in the movies states the passage of time except AOTC, anyway. I choose to assume more like 40 years pass between ROTJ and TFA. Why not? Either way, let’s either move the conversation elsewhere or let it alone.
