Sure, the PT threw a wrench into the mix and messed everything up. But the EU writers could have found ways of working around and subverting that. I have a fondness for the scene in ROTJ where Luke grabs his new lightsaber out of the air and activates it; first time I saw a lightsaber that wasn't blue or red, and I loved it!

Too bad Windu's purple saber didn't elicit similar feelings when I first saw it; I suppose the idea of a relatively minor, peripheral character being the only character to get a unique lightsaber in the films just irked me >:-(

Best case scenario : Star Wars will continue to live on, the PT & latest SE united as a "cohesive" saga beloved by ADHD sufferers everywhere; the fans will, of course, consider the PT superior to the OT. The OOT will exist only on long-obsolete media and sought after only by film historians and a dwindling fringe group of aging purists. The EU will probably be 110% shit at this point.

Worst case scenario : Star Wars popularity will die down and be all but forgotten, remembered only by film historians and a dwindling fringe group of aging fans.

On second thought, I'm not so sure which of those two is the lesser evil ...  

In an earlier draft Annikin [sic] pinched a girl's ass then had sex with her in a closet. With that in mind it's kind of hard to believe Star Wars was intended to be a kids' movie first and foremost.

The lightsabers in the OT had rings on the pommels with which it fasten to the belt with. The lightsabers in the PT didn't have these; they were attached to the belt by magnet instead.

And to think that there are actual people out there who consider the CG Yoda more lifelike than the puppet. It's pure, unfiltered madness.

For one person the overall story of the prequels could be condensed into a single film, while for another it would take five. It all depends on how you feel the story should unfold, what should be emphasized/deemphasized, etc.

I find theforce.net to be (largely) stifling and boring, and that's why I can go months without ever posting there. That's just me, though.

Luke's lightsaber in TESB should be recoloured cyan.

In ANH, when Luke activates his father's lightsaber for the first time we see it with a nice clear cyan glow - totally unlike the azure (sky blue) of Obi-Wan's blade and the later film's saber.

Yeah, it may be have just been a glitch or whatever in the colouring process (like when it appeared white during the training scene aboard the Falcon). However, since it was first revealed with a cyan colour then that colour should take precedence.

Plus, it would add some subtle variety. =D  

I agree with your basic points, haljordan28 - that the lightsaber duels in the PT were unnecessarily flashy, over-choreographed, and just plain ridiculous.

But please, man, proofread your writing before you post; I think you'd gain some modicum of respect around here if your writing was more legible.
