I didn't think Superman IV was that bad.

While I do think Superman IV is a poor movie, I actually really like Superman III. Hell, it's the only Superman film in the Chris Reeve series that I actually like all that much.

Yes, the villains are rather lame and Richard Pryor isn't at all convincing as a computer genius. On the other hand, though, I love how Clark was portrayed as an actual character this time around rather than as a mere mask of Superman's, and I think Annette O'Toole's Lana is a far better and more believable (not to mention better looking) love interest than Margot Kidder's Lois.

The House on Haunted Hill (1959)

Rather tedious and nonsensical. Vincent Price is awesome as always, though.

6/10

The House on Haunted Hill (1999)

Rather vulgar and stupid. Jeffrey Combs is awesome as always, though.

5.5/10

Histoires extraordinaires AKA Spirits of the Dead (1968) - 7/10

Batman Begins (2005) - 6/10

Alien 3 (Assembly Cut) (1992) - 6/10

ffs.   The EU is just glorified fanfic.  They should just put out the licenses and let people write what they will.  because of LFL's tremendous missteps with this franchise, I already, (and I bet I'm not alone,) determine what is "canon" to me.*

*Which is why Splinter is a fever dream Luke has after conking his head on an overhang after battling Vader in the cave on Dagobah and is therefore included in my canon.

Personally, I fit the story into my personal canon by going with the idea that Luke and Leia just fought an apparition created by the Kaiburr crystal in the Temple of Pomojema and not Vader himself.

I don't know how you came that conclusion. But instead of trying to dissect the article I'll just post the following twitter conversation with one of the men in charge of Star Wars canon:

@A_Targaryen 6 Jan

@HolocronKeeper will the new Marvel Star Wars comics be considered canon or they could still be contradicted by the movies and tv shows?

@HolocronKeeper 6 Jan

@A_Targaryen Story Group has a hand in all facets of Star Wars storytelling, including movies, TV, games, and publishing.

@12MG12 6 Jan

@HolocronKeeper @StephenVincent Are you implying that the goal is to dispose of the hierarchy and have one cohesive canon?

@HolocronKeeper 6 Jan

@12MG12 @StephenVincent That's definitely a primary goal of the Story Group.

So just more of the same bullshit as before, only in different packaging.

Canon kills the imagination -- why are so many people addicted to it?

I hate B'omarr monks. Can't a spider thing just be a spider thing?

So the spider thing's brain comes from a monk -- what's the big deal? It's not like this revelation undermines its characterization or anything.

The big deal is that the spider thing's brain was clearly meant to simply be a droid brain, not an organic brain.

Clearly meant to be a droid brain? In what way does this

look like a droid brain?
