heh Yep, sure has flown. The remaster itself already hit its 1 year anniversary in June (27th) 😄 Took a shot the day I started work on it:

Already had up till the plane crash done when I announced it, was my deciding point on whether I was gonna be able to tackle it.

The screen going black was intentional, it was when it intercut with the events where they cut Naomi out of the tree, no other way of doing it sadly. It also happens later when Ben and Juliet are discussing her infiltration into the survivors camp.

Not the first time it was brought up, there was an explanation for that, even on the original site. The way I see that “mind-travel” is that it’s happening inside his head as opposed to actually going back (like in The Constant), but also from a technical side, it would be tough to edit it in cause it shows glimpses of the island events (which would be odd to see if we didn’t see them already), and for Charlie when the rain hits is completely different between that and his flashback (where Desmond isn’t there and he then saves Nadia from muggers). So I left it as is for this remaster.

80-88 (2005-2007) the ones with leave the island, second flight, accident, after accident
all the timeshifts + 4 (1974-1977) the ones with stay on the island
5-8 (1977) everyone on the same page with oceanic team back and explosion
89-96 (2007) after explosion everyone on the same page again
97-101 (epilogue)

tbh, its not easy to locate timeshifts (there are fourteen of them.)

Cheers. I can see where you’re going with it, though this edit (along with the original version) was aiming to be a more literally in order of time, so it was gonna be out of place, definitely not a way to introduce someone to the series.

Yeah, it will feel disjointed in areas when the scenes have been rearranged. The edits really more for the curiosity and to offer something different than the intended order. I remember seeing some discussion on the placement of that timeflash about whether it should have been earlier in the episode (but it definitely had to be before episode 2 cause of the statue being intact that got demolished by the Black Rock) and whether Locke’s side in the well should have been in the future.

Sure, go for it, DharmaDan, though I’m not sure how the traffic will be if there’s a lot of people on there, already had it temp blocked from a lot attempting to get it the same time, unless you were only doing it via DM on there too. I was gonna try to get word out on it on the main site, though I would have liked to have a more public friendly link instead by then, like a torrent etc.
