I like your monitor. It’s real big.

Well, mmetharam, I’m glad your search led you here. You will never find a more wretched hive of scrum and villainy dedicated group of fans. I’ve been here since 2007 and am immensely grateful for the contributions of this forum’s members over the years.
Pass on what you have learned.
Oh, I hovered.
EDIT: I clicked, but the page wouldn’t load. I guess it was fate.
The page was on strike.
Hey, did anyone know that this editor uses Markdown syntax?
Apologies for my english, it’s not my mother language.
No worries. Your English is more understandable than many native speakers.
Bahaha, it’s nice of you to to include the quote from our GOUT-loving friend on myspleen.
The GOUT DVDs look better? This person obviously has flies in his eyes, which is precisely, I assume, the reason that he cannot see them…
I don’t care what Mike thought of TFA, but I’d love to see some more BTS clips and maybe hear some news about this thing becoming something we can all see!
Yeah, I can’t wait to see this when it’s ready for distribution 😉
At the Starkiller speech, Hux could sing Dethharmonic by Dethklok.
“Prepare the laser beam. I’m gonna use it tonight…”
There’s also a line about “I’d rather you be dead than to lose a tiny shred of what I’ve made this fiscal year.”
That would actually give the First Order some motivation. They’re against the New Republic because of their taxation policies regarding trade routes. This also connects it to Phantom Menace because, like poetry, it rhymes 😉
SE. It’s supposed to be ridiculous, right? I’m sure there’s stuff there you could play with. Han v Greedo could be a shootout. Or Greedo could repeatedly shoot at Han and he keeps dodging.
And just before Han finally gets fed up and fires back, he could say his line to C3P0 from ROTJ, “Hurry it up, will you? I haven’t got all day.”
Thank you guys so much for all your hard work!
I hope all this attention from Facebook won’t bring the legal hammer down from Lucasfilm/Disney. But I also hope if they’re aware of this that they understand why it was necessary and that all of us who really care about the original cuts of these films will still gladly buy an official release if/when it’s ever available.

You cannot escape your destiny.
Bring my blu-ray burner.
(but please, do NOT alert my blu-ray player to prepare for my arrival…we don’t need any such shenanigans here…)
Not to mention there wouldn’t be any point, as JJ Abrams and Disney are not likely going to tinker with it after its release.
In the words of Steve the monkey…
EXCITED! EXCITED!
I’m extremely grateful for all Harmy has done for us, but once completed these will be my go to versions of the Trilogy.
Harmy, or anyone that has the answer, is the ROTJ 2.0 that is currently on myspleen official? Or is that not meant to be on there yet? Thanks!
It’s either the workprint or not official.
I’d just like to say that the Facebook arguments regarding Harmy’s lack of respect for George Lucas’ artistic vision are quite entertaining, but also a little frightening (just like any good carnival ride)
Empire has another instance of Han shooting first that Lucas forgot to clean up. I think when the door opens in Bespin and Vader is waiting for them, Vader should shoot first so Han doesn’t seem so coldblooded.
jive me a sec…
Stewardess, I speak jive.
Little did we know at the time what he was plotting…
I’d love to see these in DVD format, but you must do what you feel is right, of course.
I never had this particular set, but I grew up on the pan & scan CEDs and, later, VHS (1993 release, maybe?)
WTF? Get out of my thread. Twice.
“You made him shit his pants! TWICE!”
(Your post reminded me of this direct quote from a dream I had many years ago. Make sure to read it in a cockney accent, and let us pray that Steven_TheFarce has as also shit his pants twice.)

Yes, the matte boxes are very much there but I fiddled with the contrast to make sure they were visible as little as possible without loosing too much detail - and I did the same for the Emperor's blobs in ROTJ v1.0 and I will probably use HDTV and do the same for v2.0 as well.
That's exactly what I was hoping for!
Keeping them there because they're part of the process used to make the film, but fixing the brightness and contrast so they aren't in your face like in the GOUT :)
Please give it to us in pie chart form.

I ran over to Amazon to look at reviews of the steelbook editions from people who claim to already have them. They say it's still the SE's, but one review mentioned that Greedo doesn't fire.
There is a 0% chance of accuracy in that review.
Probably. But it wouldn't surprise me if just that one change was reverted as a feeble attempt to silence the Han shot first crowd.
It also wouldn't surprise me if the whole scene rotated in slow motion as Han dodged Greedo's blast Matrix-style while yelling "Nooooooo!"
The only thing that would surprise me at this point is a high quality release or restoration of the originals in the foreseeable future.

People are always totally honest in Amazon reviews of course. ;)
Yes, and intelligent, well informed consumers! ;)

Makes me wonder if that one small change was made, and Lucas mentioned to Landis that in the next release Han would shoot first, and Landis in turn took that comment to mean more than it really did...
