can any of you be remotely serious on here i asked a legitimate question please give me a real answer

The negative is 35mm. The 70mm print was a blow-up.

This isn't to say that the 70mm has no value! 6-track surround sound; often sharper than 35mm release prints because of less generational loss; low-fade for later prints like BttF; etc.

Regardless, there's no way in hell we'll ever get our hands on a 70mm print of BttF short of a miracle, so there's really no point in discussing this further.

so people are allowed to attack me though

Describing something someone is doing isn't a personal attack even if colorful words are used. Calling someone a name is a personal attack.

It is not a personal attack to say "Molly is polluting her school with cigarette smoke."

It is a personal attack to say "Molly is an asshole for smoking in school."

See the difference?

I hope you find it. If only universal would go back to the original camera negatives of all three films scan it at the best resoultion they can. Use no dnr and no edge enhancement, color corrected them and put the original audio on them. It would blow the original blu rays out of the water.

But it would also not earn them much money, if any. Most people (including some people here!) are satisfied with the BD as is.

Opinions wanted (VO Demo Reel)...
Time

I don't have sound at the moment, so I'll listen when I get home.

With that being said, if you plan on giving the SoundCloud hyperlink out to agents I'd fix the wording in the description a bit. It's currently: "This reel concentrates solely on a mix of my original characters and impressions."

It would be better as "In this reel I concentrate solely on a mix of my original characters and impressions." because the reel isn't doing the concentration… you are!

This is just a minor nitpick, but I love the work you've done here at originaltrilogy.com, so I want to help in any way I can.

What would make you think that? I'd have assumed it went through IP->IN->print?

That's the usual chain, sure, but poita mentioned to me a few months back that he thinks it's a positive->positive dupe print produced independent of LFL for one of the Spanish-speaking markets.

I hesitate to say "bootleg" because it's obviously well done and doesn't deserve that term.

I just thought that this was something I missed and that it's common knowledge.

Finally, on the videophile side, few people have calibrated their displays for RGB PC output, so, for those who haven't, the BT.709 output from a Blu-ray player is truly better (assuming the display is calibrated at all).

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I get sick of typing this all the time.

I'd like to add that: Even if you've calibrated your display to PC RGB, you can still screw things up; e.g., you play a video game which alters the gamma and then doesn't reset it to what it was upon exit.

If you're going to use a PC, then it's usually best to use a untamperable display out, such as a Blackmagic UltraStudio Mini Monitor (thunderbolt).

Do they know people are sick of dnr and edge enhancement in their films or do they just don't care?

In my experience "people" just don't know and don't care.

The average person is fine with whatever's most convenient for them (e.g., Netflix) and even the average piracy-inclined person is fine with a low bitrate YIFY encode of a movie.

Videophiles are a relatively tiny group. We're lucky that some production companies are even making a half-assed attempt to please us.

My father watches VHS over composite stretched to 16:9 on a contrast-boosted over-sharpened LCD TV with a terrible black level and he thinks it looks fine.
