If a person likes the first three movies (or at least one of them), that’s a real star wars fan.

Which first 3? 😉

The ones released between 1977 and 1983, of course.
The only way someone isn’t a “true fan” is if they are only pretending to like it… for whatever reason. There’s no rule about having to like the OT, or the whole saga or the EU or anything. If someone likes a piece Star Wars, they have every right to call themselves a fan.
Any other classification is elitist bullcrap.
True, but I consider anyone who likes the PT to be part of my own personal EU.

How about people who like to make fun of the prequels?
They’re obviously canon or prime or whatever we call the real movies.
• Can probably spin rapidly.
I’ll try spinning, that’s a good trick.
WRONG PICTURE!
That picture is never wrong, therefore the correct response is WRONG USAGE OF PICTURE!

God damn it. Frink already made the joke. I hate being on mobile.

You just saved yourself from a Ric pic.

Coruscant: the entire planet is one big city.
Problem is you can’t really talk SW with most people. At best you get either that the prequels sucked or were fine, the new Disney products are great, discussions about merchandise or products etc
It’s tough to actually talk to anyone about outside stories, EU, factoids or trivia outside the Internet, fan events or here at our home away from home.
But what really kills me is how so few actually realize what Star Wars really is at its core; the purity of the 1977 vision. To me it gets diluted more and more each year to the point of wondering do people really even “get” SW anymore?
I remember being almost swept away with emotion watching the puggo grande for the first time years ago and still to this day something I do yearly. This was a picture made with heart and soul, extreme compromises and model kits glued together.
I really don’t know what I would do without OT.com and all you guys, because otherwise I’d be stuck in the Dune Sea without a vaporator.

I guess I don’t “get” it. But I’m fine with that because I don’t care what Star Wars is supposedly supposed to be.
Being a real fan is for chumps. You need to go all the way and become a devout follower of the Jedi Church.
The Rise of Failures
I don’t even think I can say I’m all that big a Star Wars fan, seeing as I can’t talk about Star Wars with people who say they’re Star Wars fans, and I either hate or am completely indifferent to most of the franchise. It’s tough, but I keep coming back here anyway because I just love the original films.
True, but I consider anyone who likes the PT to be part of my own personal EU.
I Brexited to escape the EU.

Star Wars already voted to leave the EU. I call it SWexit.
.
In order to be a Star Wars fan, one must adore all six 20th Century Fox films the same, obsess over the old EU and hate Disney for un-canonising it all. They must also love all the TV shows, except for Rebels, and despise with all their heart The Force Awakens, Rogue One and everything in the nuEU.
Not enough people read the EU.
In order to be a Star Wars fan, one must adore the latter three 20th Century Fox films the same, obsess over the old EU and hate Disney for un-canonising it all. They must also love all the TV shows with “Clone” and “Wars” in the titles, so not Rebels, and despise with all their heart The Force Awakens, Rogue One and everything in the nuEU.
Fixed that for morons.
.
You’re both wrong. You’ve gotta hate TCW, too, for contradicting the EU.
Not muh Mandalorians!

There is no such thing as a “Real Star Wars Fan”. As long as you like something from Star Wars, whether it’s all or just some of it, doesn’t matter. If Star Wars fills you with any type of joy, then you’re a fan.
I don’t think there’s such a thing as a “true” Star Wars fan. If you’re a fan of something then, er, you’re a fan in any sense of the word e.g. “true”, “real”, “proper” etc.
Years ago I used to take the piss out of people who liked the PT and tease them saying they weren’t “proper” SW fans but with maturity I realised that was BS. If you you like all or a part of SW, you’re a fan.
Now, about people who like the Christmas Special…
