I just missed this release, which looks great.
(I had 2.34 GB done when the dreaded "Article not found..." took over on a.b.starwars...)

Any chance of it being torrented or hitting newsgroups?

I've just received a set of these, and very nice they look too. I'd like to see a transfer given the Citizen treatment even more now.

Got a copy of the set today (thanks, bwlag!) and I love it. Watching the flicks this way is a very strange experience, I love all the dirt on the print and the presentation of the covers and everything.

Man, covers are getting so neat nowadays I'm gonna have to buy more DVD cases to house them.

Yes, I'm one of those who needs to PIF, but I'm having a slight problem ...

Was it the real segaflip or a poser who posted the SFV files in a.b.sw ?
Please note: I'm not talking about the RARs that were posted -- only the SFVs.
IF the SFVs were posted by the real segaflip (maybe they weren't),
but if they were posted by the real segaflip, shouldn't they match the discs you sent me ?
Any ideas why they don't ?

I've already tried reading the discs in two different drives -- my burner and my [employer's] laptop.
Neither drive seems to have any trouble reading them, yet neither drive matches the posted SFVs.

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

I am the one that post the .sfv as for why they dont match no clue. The images files that i created were checked against the dvds and all dvds that I send out get verified!

ask me in about 2-3 weeks as of right now i have just finished up a project for Rikter,and then i am gonna do the "Faces" pan & scan set,and after that "Son of Kong"and i have just finished up a nice ADM package for Laserman,so as you can see right at the moment i am very busy,mainly the only people getting discs from me are the uploaders Rikter,and Segaflip,and Russs15, OH! and ofcourse my friend Boba Feta(we are working together again on a top secret project LOL)
so please be patient,if NO ONE helps you out PM me in 2-3 weeks

I downloaded the RotJ version of the Dark/Sega collection over at MySpleen. I've got it seeded up to over 2.5, but if someone wants it on DVD I can burn it for them...send me a post and I'll entertain as many offers as I can.

Thanks to Dark Jedi, I've now added screenshots of the Dark/Sega JSC transfer to my comparison page.

The Japanese discs seem to have much more detail in dark areas (see shots 3, 5 and 6). It's a shame about the colour deterioration evidenced in shot 4.

Thanks, D_J & Moth3r,
these shots provide more evidence that the SC is an invaluable source for the ultimate preservation. It's not just that they are brighter (though they are) - they actually do contain more detail than any of the others (which are all DefCol or "Faces"). This indicates that LFL did more than add temporal smoothing for the THX editions - it seems they also played with contrast, and probably brightness and colour. The Tantive whites are screwy on every edition and I think the issues with shot #4 have to do with the general oversaturation of this transfer. The colours themselves look good overall besides this. I'm looking forward to D_J's new edition.

I've done it !
I've reconstructed the VIDEO_TS.IFO to match the SFV segaflip posted.
Anybody need a copy to tide you over until dark_jedi finishes the new edition ?
