Awesome, hope this leads to a blu-ray release as well.
If its DVD only i am not interested. Blu ray or nothing. Ten years ago DVD might have been acceptable not when 1080P and Blu are the current standard.
A phoned in DVD only release from existing broadcast masters might make some bite.
“Always loved Vader’s wordless self sacrifice. Another shitty, clueless, revision like Greedo and young Anakin’s ghost. What a fucking shame.” -Simon Pegg.

Speaking of Hell, MI... you can buy a deed for one square foot for $6.66: http://www.cbsnews.com/news/hell-on-earth-welcomes-6-6-06/
Also, I'm happy that Batman '66 is finally getting some sort of official treatment, even if it's just a DVD set.

I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

I really hope they're able to work out the plethora of other licensing issues that plague the series and release it completely uncut. That would be icing on the cake, and I'd definitely buy it.
So, a new book came out and we learned so much, and it is called, “Anguilosaurus, Killer of the Living”.

You mean like the cameos, and some issue about who owns the design of that Batmobile?

I'd like to know this as well. I didn't know anything had been cut from the show in recent years...

That should be Holy Hell freezes over, Batman! ;)
And thank the gods Adam and Burt are still around to contribute commentaries.
I had a feeling something might happen with the plethora of '66 Bat merchandising that's been coming out lately.
Now if we can only get the Back to the Batcave tv movie on Blu Ray in the states. It's already come out overseas.
Where were you in '77?
Used to rock to this little ditty on Doctor Demento's radio show many years ago.

I guess I'm not too knowledgeable in the subject, I just assumed a show of this caliber wouldn't go unscathed after so many years. Aren't some of the newer airings edited for time IIRC? So yeah, stuff like licensed songs and whatnot.
So, a new book came out and we learned so much, and it is called, “Anguilosaurus, Killer of the Living”.
They'll go back to the negatives and remaster this bat boy for HD. The Green Hornet ran on SciFi a while back, and looked good as new. Hopefully, that's in the pipeline too.
There's money to be made in new HD syndication masters as well. (A factor that drove Paramount to spend big bucks to remaster Star Trek TNG.) Fox won't have to rebuild the episodes from scratch. I don't recall a lot of songs that would be a licensing problem.
I don't see celebrity cameos being a serious problem, unless it involves the estate of one who's difficult to deal with. (Sadly, a lot of them have passed away.)
"In character" cameos like Lurch and Col. Klink, might be tricky, since those characters are obviously not owned by Fox or Warners.
All cameos in one youtube video.

Not in recent years, but wasn't it cut for syndication?
Everything is cut or sped up for syndication. A 25 minute show is reduced to 22 minutes or so these days. Some classic Twilight Zone episodes have been butchered so badly in the past decade or two, I won't watch them on tv anymore.

Fantastic news. It's about time this happened.
I'm happy for the Batman '66 fans. As for myself, though, I'm not all that interested.

WB doesn't have the best record with celebrity cameos being retained (will we ever see The Addams Family or Laurel & Hardy on The New Scooby-Doo Movies outside of syndication?), but given that this is a much more high-profile release than my example I can see them shelling out the cash.
A Goon in a Gaggle of 'em
Hanna Barbera did a Addams Family cartoon show a year after the Scooby episode, and that series is out via the Warner Archives, so perhaps it's not an issue now? The show didn't use much of the original series cast like Scooby did though, so it might be an actor specific issue.

If I have one goal in life, it's to earn 10 cent royalty checks for...something.

The thing with the L&H episode could be related to the fact that Larry Harmon owned the rights to the likenesses of Stan and Ollie (as absurd as that sounds). Now that Mr. Harmon is dead, I have no idea who owns the right to the characters, if anybody.
either someone owns the rights to them or they are in public domain and are free to use.
Or the rights are complicated and no one group has control over the whole series (as in Rentaghost).
