The lack of a back button is really dumb.
I’m stoping the conversation if you’re going to be like this.
I win!

I’m confused, are you referring to a specific app that doesn’t have a back button or do you literally want the iPad itself to have a back button?
I literally want a back button on the iPad.
The YouTube app on iOS is a perfect example. Half the time the back button is not available, or at least not immediately obvious, so when I want to go back to the list of videos from a currently playing video, it’s either not possible or a pain in the ass. On Android all I have to do is hit the back button on the phone. It doesn’t matter if the Android app has a back button or not because you can just consistently use the phone’s back button.

You can see it that way if you want to.

That’s the YouTube app’s fault for not understanding standard iOS conventions.

I think everyone but you would be happy to see the conversation to end this quickly.

You’re missing the point. On Android it doesn’t matter.

I’m happy as well.
The conversation was stupid in the first place.

I guess I have to take back my declaration of the end of the conversation.
Even if it doesn’t matter on Android, the system on Android is broken.

I’ve said the reason before. I’ll even quote it here, so that you don’t have to do any dreadful work:
The fact that the iPad does not have a back button is the stupidest thing ever.
The back button has a fundamental flaw: You don’t know what you’re going back to. It could be anything. That’s user hostile behavior.
The way iOS handles this is better, and gives more clarity. You understand exactly what’s going on when you click a back button. That’s better for the user, and avoids confusion. If a user is constantly confused by a paradigm, they’re more likely to stop using it.

Interesting. As an iPhone user I never even considered a back button on the device itself (and don’t think ever needed it).
I’ve never used an iPad but I assume things are the same - swiping right typically is equivalent to going back. Can’t speak for the YouTube app because I don’t have it (I just go through safari).
MACS DON’T LOOK BACK. ONLY FORWARD.
I bet Apple is wishing they had a back button to press so they wouldn’t have to pay Ireland 13 billion Euros for blatant and admitted tax evasion.
Keep Circulating the Tapes.

Ha! Just heard that on the radio on my way home.
I bet Apple is wishing they had a back button to press so they wouldn’t have to pay Ireland 13 billion Euros for blatant and admitted tax evasion.
It’s complicated.
Probably. Not sure, though.

I just think that there’s probably more to it than it seems at face value.
I mean they moved their IP to Ireland to escape American business tax laws, said they’d never move back unless we dropped our corporate tax to some ridiculously low rate, and now they’re saying that they don’t have to pay Ireland because their country isn’t Irish.
Pretty straightforward.

What about the part where Windows is to blame?
HOW ABOUT THAT, MR. FUNG?!?!

I understood that reference.
Don’t do drugs, unless you’re with me.

Mediocre addition to an already mediocre joke.

The only part of this post that is accurate is “addition” and “joke.”
