M2V bug...what the heck would make this happen?

http://randomness.dosius.com/20th.m2v - I think there's something with this file that makes it not work in my DVD player when the DVD is authored with dvdauthor/dvdstyler... as far as I can tell the rest of my DVD does work.

The problem in every case (1 audio track or 2 audio tracks) is that the 20th Century Fox searchlights stutter and stop, then the player loops to the beginning of the chapter.

MPlayer and VDubMod have no trouble with it.

File is about 7.1 MB.

Hmmm, interesting, VDubMod will crash if you select File -> File Information.

What encoder did you use?

I'm no expert in the finer details of MPEG encoding, but according to Bitrate viewer you've used a zigzag block scan order with interlaced frames - I believe you should only use zigzag when encoding with progressive frames.

But that's just a random guess!

The video is actually dumped from the EditDroid DVD.

I'm hoping that a re-encoded M2V that reports the same "claimed" bitrate works.
