I've found with my own projects that sometimes all you have to do is ask, and the world will come to you. Luck, right place, right time, or just fulfilling a need that other people have wanted but can't do themselves ... the internet tempts fate, it does ...
The machinations of the universe have a pattern beyond our reasoning. =)
It's done! Disc Two for those that have the rerelease single-sided Little Shop of Horrors. If not, go and buy it! Now! Disc Two features: Original 1960 black and white movie taken from the Madacy release, including the trivia questions, with a few others added by yours truly. It also contains the original ending of the 1986 musical movie that was the reason the producer pulled the first release from the shelves! There is also a photo gallery of posters and photos of unused scenes. The soundtrack to the musical is in the DVD-rom section as mp3s as well. All of the menus are made to look like this could actually be a companion to the official disc. I think I'm gonna send this off to f1209 for distribution. Have fun and let me know what you guys think! Special thanks to mr-bridger for suppling the ending and ocpmovie for most of the pics and idea to include the soundtrack. Disc art and cover art (two disc case) coming soon.
mr-bridger, you wouldn't happen to have a scan of the recalled cover would ya? There is a Blockbuster near me that has (had?) the recalled cover on the shelf, but what they actually rent is the newer disc.

It's a file format. It's lossless compression. You then expand the audio file to listen to it and you have an exact digital copy. I'm just not a big fan of MP3's. I used it on my Blade Runner set.
Thanks, but no. I actually wouldn't have been able to do this project if mr-bridger didn't post a torrent link to the same disc you have. My disc has this same ending footage and everything else LSoH related I can find that isn't on the single side re release. Now I need to wait for this updated 1960 movie to come out!
Is that the new restored/colorized Legend Films edition? If so, which one are you going to present?
Would be GREAT if they, or someone, could colorize the b/w ending footage. BUT WAIT!! A rumor from deep within Warner Bros perhaps has this on the cards. They are known to be doing a 2-disc Little Shop, and have said they "want to do it right". From another source, I have heard mention of color elements.
Seemless branching to pick a "happy" or "sad/original" ending would be cool, and it's something WB is playing with on the new Final Destination flick on DVD, but as far as I know right now, it's just an extra...
Right now it's the Hollywood Classics Madacy version. After May 1st (when the Legend Films version is supposed to be released), it will be one or both of the versions on the new disc. I can't wait until this comes out so I can see how big of a disc it is and everything. I don't know how to colorize things myself, but if I did, I'd attempt to do so to the original ending. If I can only fit one version of the 60 movie on this, what do you guys think it should be? I mean if I use only the color version, people can simply turn the color off on their TV and bam, black and white. Or should I just forget about the color version all together? I do want the Mike Nelson (MST3K) commentary on this though.
You REALLY want to use the Legend release - their restoration of "Plan Nine From Outer Space" was great and this is in the same league.
I would have the original black-and-white edition, in keeping with the b/w nature of the ending. Would be great if WB colorize the ending again for their upcoming SE.
It didn't play on my DVD player, but on my computer worked fine. Hm.
I can't find the alternate ending on this. I would redo this to make the alternate ending much easier to find, as that should be the focus for the disc. The picture gallery is nice.
Wow - never knew WB had the ending more completed than that. I wonder why they never put it out - even on the disc that was in stores for a day or so - and used the black/white workprint VHS dub instead?
Being on the HUGE Skid-Row set at Pinewood as a kid in '85 is one experience I shall never forget!
There were a ton of scenes I saw them shooting for that never made it in, including an extended "Meek Shall Inherit" sequence with Seymour on some kind of huge contract waiting to be signed...
You like what I did with the picture gallery? Thanks! Hmm, it played on a few DVD players I tested it on. To get the alternate ending you have to correctly answer all 10 trivia questions. I thought that was neat prize for answering the trivia correctly.

Hi Mr Bridger,
I've come with my begging bowl here, i'm trying to download the file but no one is seeding or sharing. Can people who have downloaded please put it on so i can finish downloading it myself? I'd love to show this to my Brother who's a LSOH nut, i'm stuck a 2%
If you wait until around May 1st, my disc will be distributed somehow. Is it really that bad to have to answer 10 easy trivia questions to get access to the ending? Scooby Doo has something like that where if you win this DVD game, you can watch a clip with I think Pamela Anderson. On some DVD's you have to enter a code to watch certain things. Is what I have done really any different?
I think ocp's point is: the fact that the alternate ending is the highlight of the DVD, why make it an easter egg. I have no feelings either way on this, just glad that it's getting out there.
