What would happen if two people were beamed to the same exact location at the same time? Would it be like in the fly?

Hopefully it would be like Tuvix.

Were there any news about a physical release of Discovery? Even though I’m not a fan of the show, I love watching things like deleted scenes, or behind the scenes documentaries (something like After Trek, but good).

I’ve been watching DS9 and I’m at S3E10 “Past Tense: Part I” and this dystopian 2024 not only seems plausible, but possible, and almost likely given the real 2018.

Yeah, that one is eerie and unnerving. Other than the “futuristic” laptops that dystopian future still holds up.

I think it’s interesting in Voyager how for most of seasons 2 and 3 they basically don’t mention a thing about getting home other than traveling toward the Alpha Quadrant. There aren’t any Gilligan’s Island-esque, this’ll get us home! Oh wait, no it won’t.

LOL! I never thought of Voyager as Gilligan’s Island before. Mind blown! Must ponder which Voyager characters have a castaway counterpart…

Where were you in '77?

I’ve always thought of it that way. And it’s like, you know that each time there’s an opportunity to get home it won’t work. Later on they started making it revolve more around contacting Starfleet, which is better.

Harry is Gilligan
Janeway is the Skipper
The Doctor is the Professor
Tom and B’elanna are Mr. and Mrs. Howell
Seven is Ginger
Neelix is Mary Ann

I like this. I’d like a new GI series but I don’t think anyone would know how to do it right. Maybe I’ll watch more Voyager.

(On DS9 S3E21 “The Die is Cast”)

I’ve been reading Garak’s interactions with Bashir as being, in a Cardassian way, rather flirtatious. I assume nothing comes of this later in the show, but that feels like such a missed opportunity. O well.

'90s Trek wasn’t quite ready for sausage fests. Taco parties, on the other hand. . . .

^But only in the Mirrorverse. Unless there’s something in the later seasons I don’t know about yet.

Yeah, the first lesbian kiss was between Jadzia and another female Trill. It’s very romantic and isn’t even commented on as being out of the ordinary. (Not in the Mirror universe.)

But don’t they also back pedal it a bit by saying that it happened because of one of them having been a man or something? I mean still pretty forward for 90s mainstream TV.

I think Kirzon loved the woman and Jadzia, still being a Dax, had feelings for her. I wouldn’t call it backpedalling since that was the whole premise of the episode and they did still never comment on the lesbianism as being at all subversive or out of the ordinary.

Torias Dax (male host) used to be married to Nilani Kahn (female host).

Now the Dax and Kahn symbionts both have female hosts, but they remember the heterosexual relationship. The other Trill characters in the show think Jadzia Dax and Lenara Kahn having a relationship is taboo, but it has nothing to do with the current hosts both being female.

Does there exist a project anywhere to restore STVI in something closer to Meyer’s preferred aspect ratio? I read somewhere that he preferred something around 1.85-2.0, but the Blu-Ray, at least the one I have, seems to be in 2.35 or so.
