Idea & Info: Adywan's Star Wars Revisited in other languages

While I was done with the non english dub for adywan’s revisited I was wondering, had anyone the idea doing this. I mean if you was a kid and experienced the movie in a certain way didn’t you wanted to recreate the experience? Some people didn’t like dubbing beacouse it ruins the original feel of the movie. But some work is so high in quality that you cannot imagine someone else to that character, who voice acted. I not created this just for to salute adywan’s work, but the actresess and actors who made this movie that is. What do you think about it?

Don't really makes sense what you said, but the disc is 100% identical to the original dvd9 PAL, just added a new audio track. It was lot of work cutting the audio and match to the 5.1 track, beacause there only exist ind dolby stereo, and that was ripped off from the VHS I think. So in my country the revisited edition the best sound and picture quality of star wars that is aviable. I done this to ordinary people, with ordinary dvd players, don't think it has to be use the dub in english speaking countrys. And the dub is is in 5.1 ac3, mp3 is crap, i think.

But I am still eradicate it a few subtleties.
Problems I see here: Adywans Movie does not match 100% with the German sound track, it runs for 1-2 min asyncron

But it all has been changed to German, including scrolling text did it with BeSweet

Yes, the problem I had at first, you can definitely do it, for me it works well. Only I have to cut all the files, AC3 every 1-2 min.

Have therefore taken only the text. Sounds e.g. Laser etc. remain thus. If I take it completely or have longer scenes, asyncron it runs.

But it's quite good, but it is really fine work, adjust the sound for each correct, it really requires time.

Yes, there are some wery good actors working in the country, some actors example Bruce Willis's voice is far more better, I can't imagine seeing the Die Hard in english.

I'm remembering a quote here:  "Charlie Chaplin once entered a Charlie Chaplin look-alike contest in Monte Carlo and came in third; that's a story."

The scrolling text is narrated, it really gives a ferry tale feeling for the New Hope.

It is easy to replace just the main audio track with a different language and keep the whole structure of the DVD, with all the menus and extras intact. Yes, I alreasy did it, thanks to the programs you uploaded on rapidshare. I used the ADigitalMan's tutorial, and made the 5.1 audio track to 6 mono track. The 98% of the voice is in the center, so I replaced it to the stereo track. Sadly there is just VHSRip audio aviable. So all the sound effect remained, but when the voice echoing, that remained. As shows the example video. Anyway, this is the best aviable video and audio quality aviable from the movie.

Noted, however, this version is modified, some contents were added as follows:
* Scroll text in German
* Complete German Language
* Jabba & Solo launch pad 94
* New subtitle Jabba & Solo
* Some new sounds
* Runtime ca.125min.

Please remember, this is my first movie / sound editing at all, I have taken much time for this, it could mags that some scenes are not 1000% but I am, my friends, family, my children really very happy, there are no errors.

However, I have learned a lot, and I will also venture on a translation of ESB, I think I can so if our master ^ ^ Adywan would rausbringen Englishe only one version.

As wonderful as James Earl Jones is, I grew up with the German voice (Heinz Petruo) who did an amazing job as all of the voice actors did in the SW films. Unfortunately, Petruo died in 2001 and therefore wasn't available to dub the infamous "alert my star destroyer"-scene which were dubbed by another voice actor. So, all the fans of the English version can feel lucky to still have James Ear Jones. ;-)

Petruo was still alive when the special edition was dubbed. He spoke for a German Star Wars commercial (I think it was for Micro Mashines) some weeks before the Special Edition was released.

A shame, that they didn´t used him for the voice dubbing.

Good work DIP! The trick is tahat the conversations is in the center channel, so you must replace it. I had unfortunatly stereo dub for star wars (D*ckhead Lucasfilms nidn't allowed to put on the dvd), so carefully added the sound moving frame-by frame. The music is in the same timing, so it didn't "echoing"

You can use Ady's 5.1 soundtrack, for the best result, but when echoing (like in the Death star coundown), that can't be remove to damage the    quality. Wery promising, keep up the good work. :D

And damn Russian dubbing for C3PO is much better than the Hungarian. :D
