I remember seeing that a while back and as it doesn’t make me feel either way about the whole rehash debacle but as it pertains to The Last Jedi I don’t want anything recycled from The Empire Strikes Back save for generic plot points. Meaning I’m okay with the First Order striking back at the Resistance Base so long as the battle is fundamentally different and it has a different impact on the plot than the Battle of Hoth had on Empire’s plot. That’s why I hope one of the rumors I’ve heard about Leia is true.

There are a few other films Lucas bit off of in small ways but this is the most notable of them.
Quite clearly that was just a bad prediction of OT. Just because I can predict momentous events, such as solar eclipse, it does not mean I can take credit for the event itself.

I do not like the ship design at all.
These little podracer like things and these, i dont know how to call it, little Nebulon Bs without the engine section don’t look like Star Wars ships.
And i am a little bit nervous about these “new mega stardestroyer rumors”.

The Nebulon-B looking ships are apparently Starhawk-class battleships, which have appeared in the Afteemath trilogy but which I don’t think have been depicted visually until now. I’m expecting to see them soon in the Poe Dameron comic now that the cat’s out of the bag.

They aren’t Starhawks, way too small. They look like gunships or transports of some kind. I’ve seen it speculated they are above D’Qar and are Resistance personal escaping a First Order attack.
It seems like people are really embracing the new characters. In fact, the big question people ask me now about Star Wars is, “Are Finn and Poe gay lovers?” And really how the f*ck would I know? My second husband left me for a man, so my gaydar isn’t exactly what you’d call Death Star level quality. ----Carrie Fisher

I have a feeling that those ships belong to the natives that inhabit whatever backwater planet that is. If that’s the case of course it’s not going to look like what we’ve seen before.

I would’ve brought this up in the more relevant thread but, y’know, spoilers:
So if this rumor about Hayden as Anakin’s ghost turns out to be true, Disney’s pretty much gonna have to restore the original versions of the OT, right? I mean, if we put the whole debate about “was that or wasn’t that a prequel reference” aside, TFA was %100 “version agnostic” as far as the OT is concerned. You could say the same thing about Rogue One. Yeah, both movies use cgi and have other attributes of being 2015/2016 movies, but there’s no reference to anything specific to a certain version of the OT films. Hayden showing up as ghost Anakin would change all of that. It would be Lucasfilm saying “sorry, but George’s version of the OT is THE version so far as these new films are concerned.”
I could see it becoming a sticking point with a significant percentage of the fanbase. Maybe I’m really overthinking it, and I apologize if this feels off topic, but Hayden as Anakin in TLJ will only make the unaltered versions feel all the more conspicuous in their absence.
