I knew it was something like that.

Plus Version 6 - the deleted scenes that are so extensive they form an entire alternate cut of the film when put back-to-back.

Disney better release the original versions, or else.

We have waited too fucking long.

Or else… what?

Exactly.

If I may, it’s not like Disney doesn’t already have a really good reason to give us what we’ve been clamoring for.

Harmy’s version has become very well known over the last several years, and now we have 1080p transfers of actual prints (or is it just ANH?) thanks to Team Negative One.

I’m not sure what it’s going to take to convince Disney of the money they’re losing by not doing a professional remastering themselves and slapping a price tag on it.

If its still up to Lucas, Disney needs to tell us. But, yeah Disney is loosing money on this. There will be more scans of prints cleaned up and remastered to get the original versions. Sites are writing articles on this every few months. Look at completed listings of the 2006 DVDs and VHS releases. They are often going for more than the blu-rays.

It seems like people are really embracing the new characters. In fact, the big question people ask me now about Star Wars is, “Are Finn and Poe gay lovers?” And really how the f*ck would I know? My second husband left me for a man, so my gaydar isn’t exactly what you’d call Death Star level quality. ----Carrie Fisher

The font used for “Trilogy” makes it worth every penny.

A LOOOOOOOOTT more than the BDs in some cases.

…why?

Lovelikewinter was saying how some of the VHS’ and DVD’s of the OUT are going for more than what the BDs cost. My post was showing how some actually go for a LOT more than what the BDs go for. The set in that link is going for $2K.

I think he means why would anyone pay $2000 for VHS.

Or frankly the GOUT for that matter. You can pick those up for $20 a pop at some used stores.

They don’t last long if they do get them in (at least around here). I saw the 1993 Laserdisc set at Halfprice Books for I think $80 and they were gone the next time I came in.

This article is comical. What does it even mean that the effects won’t hold up in HD? Does the author realize that for its first few years, Star Wars was only available in better-than-HD quality? (I.e. Film)

The ignorance of some people never fails to amaze me.

I still remember listening to an episode of Imperial Holonet Radio where one guy mentioned that the movie Fanboys was getting released on dvd but not blu-ray.

“Was it shot digitally? No? It was shot on film? Oh, well then it’s not HD anyway.”

I mean, I guess that’s technically true. HD is a digital standard, not a film one. It is an ignorant statement, however.

Too many people seem to think HD didn’t exist at all prior to Blu-Ray.

I think I have that VHS, and I’m pretty sure it’s in good condition; can I be a millionare now?
