Most people don’t have good cursive penmanship.
I don’t even have good printing penmanship. I can hardly read my own handwriting.
It has no point.
It allows the writer to write swiftly without having to remove the pen/pencil from the paper to write each letter. Also it looks neat and professional when done properly with good penmanship.

I know I don’t 😛. I think I started learning cursive in school in the third grade. I’m still working on my signature.

Ditto.
Instead of schools wasting time on cursive, they should spend that time on typing.
Um… I’m pretty sure the fact that the average American from the current/previous generation can’t write well enough to read it is a problem that needs to be fixed in the education system, not forgotten because typing is easier. People still have to physically write in this day and age, and we’d best make sure they can do it properly.

I don’t think writing will be important in tomorrow’s day and age.
And I don’t recommend typing because it’s easy. It’s because it’s the future.
People should learn to write and learn to write well. Pen and paper are a lost art because of filthy Millennials thinking they’re not necessary because they can just text their friends messages that the government can see.
Keep Circulating the Tapes.
END OF LINE
(It hasn’t happened yet)
Physical writing will not lose it’s place in society. It just won’t. People will always have to give physical signatures for things. That’s just how it is.

Don’t worry, it was an exaggeration. I’ve only not been able to read my own handwriting like twice in my life.

Preach it, brother!

I simply deny almost all arguments that just say “that’s just how it is” when relating to change over periods of time. Things will change.
The human workforce is being slowly phased out by robots, I don’t think it’s a huge jump to assume that handwriting will become obsolete.

I pushed that out too soon. It’s broken on anything larger than mobile 😕

I don’t care about that; what’s your position on Millennials?

I try not to spend enough time around them to formulate an opinion.

I do think that Twitter and texting are making people functionally illiterate. If you ever doubt that a significant portion of our population are absolute fools, then take a look at social media. The average message looks something like this:
“U r got to be jk wit me. pics or it didn hapen. Btw, were U at, gurl?”

It gets the point across, which is all that matters.
You’re only making fun of it because you weren’t brought up with it and people are inherently suspicious of the youth. Also, how you write today would be described the same way to people from 200 years ago.
