I gotta agree, I don't think it matters what it is. Whether some garbage, Luke's hand, some gadget or whatever, I think it's there just to highlight the dangerous situation Luke's in as he hangs for dear life above a bottomless abyss of clouds, which marks this as his lowest point in the entire saga.

Wouldn't that be when he underestimated  the powers of the emperor. Yoda warned him after all. Also the whole beginning of jedi was all leia's fault she didn't let han pay off his debt to jabba man how selfish was she.

No...Luke had his hand cut off and had just been told that his father was Darth Vader. That in conjuncture with Han being in Carbonite marks this as the lowest point in the saga. Not only that the  film just ends....no resolution no spark of happiness like in the ending STAR WARS and Return of The Jedi...nothing but bleakness with the tinniest speck of hope.

Makes you want to watch ROTJ immediately afterward though.

True but the point i was making was the fact that luke the hero didn't even beat the emperor. The redeemed anakin skywalker did. So him getting beat by the emperor might better almost a lower point if you get what i mean.

Yes but Vader never would have if it weren't for Luke now would he?  And this is all moot.

Luke was the dumb ass who threw his fucking lightsaber away just to make a point. It's not as though Sidious beat him in combat.

 If I may...

When Luke throws his lightsaber away, this was probably closer to the highest point of Luke's life...  He DID beat the emperor - since the emperor's goal was to turn Luke to the dark side.  That was the competition, and Luke won.

OT: I'm torn between wanting to watch the latest video or not...  I usually don't watch trailers for movies I want to see, since they're traditionally spoileriffic - and this feels similar...

Either way, Adywan, thank you and your team for your dedication!  Can't wait to watch this whenever it's released!  Everything I have seen is amazing...

Sounds like someone is trusting in weapons and not the Force.

Nice Clip Ady. Not too often you release a clip that 100% complete for the visual FX. The evening cloud vistas looked awesome. Alot better than the original. Watched this on a huge screen. Detail was superb for 720p. I actually prefer stand alone clips rather than the side by side comparisons where the resolution is alot less. Are you still going to modify the ending shot of the rebel fleet?

Compliments seem rather redundant at this point Ady, but still they are necessary. Keep on keep'n on as they say, this is beautiful work all around.

Is Adywan still looking for a Millennium Falcon model? The one/sixth scale Hot Toys Falcon has just been unveiled...

I Noticed this a while ago and I don't know if anything could be done about it, but it seems to be a transfer issue with the special edition version. I put comparison for color the revisited vs gout.

So Lando, Leia and Chewie look a lot better in revisited in terms of color. But the interior of the cockpit looks thick with a rusty red in fact it makes it look as though the falcon is all of a sudden gone rusty!!!

Ok so the colors are widely different but it is not rusty so is there a way to remove this dark red rust on the Frames and metal work of the falcon??? Some of the frame has even disappeared...

This color problem only occurs when we can see out of the falcon window. All the other shots are fine... Even if it is locked down. What is this problem? and how was it created in the special edition?

The Hyperspace shot at this view is really nasty too in the special edition compared to the gout.

The side views also have the same rusty red as there is a window here also.

True mate, very true but It also takes time to break this stuff down and also I never post without doing some donkey work myself.

I did some color tests on the actual areas that exhibit the Rusty red and they can be very easily removed by de-saturating red and yellow (obviously keeping the characters color intact).

But the falcon POV shot of the frame is destroyed detail with crushed blacks... But there is the same frame at the asteroid chase that does not have this problem so it should be easily given better detail from this location even as a still image overlay if needed. Or take it from the negative one scan perhaps.

Time and effort, and I know my time and effort pales in comparison to revisited project but It all takes time even to say what I said and show the problem up.

Is there a splitscreen of the blu-ray with the latest clip?

It would be great to see one. I find them really helpful.

I spotted a couple more minor things in the new clip to do with the special edition and not your brilliant work.

"Look there's someone up there"

In the Red box the Panel goes dim then pops brighter than it was previously. Appears to be some form of video damage in the special edition.

I put a comparison here because I was looking at this shot trying to ascertain why it was not working as well as it could. I put it down to red saturation and the central Ring being jet black almost like a thick matte line. I sourced the detail from another shot to put detail and create a contrasting solid line  between the window and the executor to show as an example. Small but effective and I think it's a reasonable repair to make as this detail is present in the other shot but not in this one.

I don't have anything else to add I really like your new clip but the Special edition video source is showing signs of age and damage and missing detail all rolled in to one not a good combination with the great new special effects shots you have done.

The special edition is struggling to keep up... :)

i hate to be "that guy" (*cough Ronster *cough) but is it just me or does 3P0's leg look gold and not silver like is it supposed to be?

I made this for me and I wanted to share it with you...

Off work and a bit bored so It's taken about 25 hours and was a fun project I really tried to add all the detail in the correct places and make the cockpit wider like the 2:35:1 aspect and add a bit of depth of field to it also. It was never meant to get as obsessive as I did over it. But I am quite pleased with how it came out and yeah I reckon I have a few details wrong or it's not exactly correct but I really did my best.

I just think those POV Falcon cockpit shots look old and tired so I did my best to bring it up to date a bit. I hope I can inspire you back :)

I believe it.  It's very uncharacteristic of you to obsess over something ;)

In all seriousness, it really looks great and could have many nice applications in fanedits, not just here. :)
