I was shocked to read of Andrew Lesnie's death the cinematographer of the lord of the rings trilogy.
Loved the work he did on Fellowship of the Ring, he will be missed.
“Always loved Vader’s wordless self sacrifice. Another shitty, clueless, revision like Greedo and young Anakin’s ghost. What a fucking shame.” -Simon Pegg.

Yes heard this on the radio :-(
When you've watched about 45 hours of LOTR/Hobbit documentaries, it feels like you knew the amazing people who worked on these films. Sad to go so young. Looking forward to seeing him again on the 5-Armies Blu-Ray at Christmas.

One of the stories that gave people the stereotype that Philadelphia sports fans are always behaving badly and are mean and boo everyone all the time was the Eagles game in 1968 where Eagles fans booed Santa Claus and threw snowballs at him. Frank Olivo, the man that was in the Santa Claus suit that day passed away on Thursday.
Nigel Terry, King Arthur in ‘Excalibur,’ Dead at 69
Terry held the distinction of being the first baby born in Bristol, England, after the end of World War II.

Loved his facial expressions and playing style almost as much as the sound that came out of his guitar.

Crap :( Another talented musician gone :(

My heart is heavy with the news of B.B. King passing. He and his music had a big impact on my life. I got to see him preform twice and it was, of course, like magic both times.
I'm just glad he was recognized as a legend while he was still alive. So many wonderful artists don't receive that kind of recognition until after they're gone.
I'm saddened to hear of BB's passing. But as others have said, he lived a life to be proud of. Very few "superstar" musicians live to be 89, often by their own hands, and that alone is something to be proud of. Another legend goes on.
I hope Buddy Guy keeps kicking for a while yet. If you've never heard or seen Buddy Guy, check him out. Dude is a mother***ker. He's part of the same time as BB, Albert King, Otis Rush and the like, but he's different. He had a little more "electricity" about him (and that's not an insult to the others, I'm just saying his style was a little more "Rocky"), he was definitely a big influence on the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Kenney Wayne Shephard. Him and SRV were quite good friends.
Goodbye BB King, the world will always remember you. When I was a kid I got in trouble for making the alarm go off on your statue in Memphis because I didn't know you weren't supposed to touch it. :)

A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.
I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

This is like an axe-blow to the roots of my cinematic childhood. So incredibly sad to hear of Mr Lee's death--though 93 is certainly a remarkable age to have attained.
“That Darth Vader, man. Sure does love eating Jedi.”
Terrible news about Mr Lee and today we also lost Ron Moody 91.
**UPDATE**
Cripes Ornette Coleman 85 too. What a crappy day!
Very sad. He was a good bad guy. : (
R.I.P. Mr. Lee : (
Bingo is back!
Or is it just this thread?
Shhh do not remind him or he will leave again...! ;-p
I was once…but now I’m not… Further: zyzzogeton

Anyone else remember Mr. Moody from a UK show called Into The Labyrinth? Nickelodeon aired it here back in the 80's.
Pity he never played a certain Time Lord.
Where were you in '77?
Yeah... I once read an alternate history where Mr. Moody was the Third Doctor...
Ol’ George has the GOUT, I see.
hmm, Mr. Moody as the Doctor? I bet Christopher Lee would make a great Master. Might be an interesting combo.
Can't believe Lee was already '83 when he was in ROTS. He was the man!

In the imaginary universe I created he was ;-) But Peter Cushing's Doctor defeated his plan to use the Autons for world domination.

hmmm, Lee as the bad guy and Cushing as the good guy, this sounds familiar.
