I'd really like to have the theatrical version of Star Wars on DVD... and the closest that would be would be for now would be the Mono Mix synched up to the GOUT. Currently I can do that by playing the wave file audio boosted while the DVD running in PowerDVD with the sound levels low (so the mono thing drowns out the regular sound). Not an ideal setup for a stand alone player on a TV though.
Someday, I hope I'll be watching the X0 project, but until then...? Good luck guys!

Padawan LearnerI've just been listening to this (MANY thanks Chainsawash!) today and this has to be my favourite mix of Star Wars by far. Prior to receiving this my favourite was the 1985 LD remix from my 'incredible shrinking aspect ratio' release. The mono mix is the one I grew up with after first seeing it on ITV here in the UK back in 1980. Never did get used to the 'newer' Aunt Beru voice in all officially released versions after.
Belbecus you have done a man's job, Sir! (to quote another fav. film of mine). Thank you so much. The quality is also far better than I was expecting - never thought I'd hear the mono mix again, let alone with this level of fidelity. Everyone needs this!!!
Thanks again,
- 7FN.

Using the GOUT SW DVD, the mono .wav file that Chainsawash provided for me, Moth3r’s guide above and the various guides to converting from LB to anamorphic in the tech forum, I was able to create an anamorphic theatrical edition of Star Wars with the mono mix on DVD – which is FANTASTIC. A most welcome addition to my collection. Thanks to Chainsawash, Moth3r, and everyone who contributed to the DVD creation guides!

OT's bucketbotI'm going to have to look into making a disc like that, seeing as I got the mono mix CD from ChainsawAsh as well. :) I've never done anything like it before, though. :p

I've been interested in hearing the mono mix for a long time. Can someone hook me up with a recording of it, please?
