Well, i've got the whole thing now, gonna burn tomorrow when i wake up. Thanks again for completing this project, now I can watch it tomorrow, since i have a day off. ;-)
Thats true, and to reiterate a point..DUAL LAYERED burners are really cheap right now. You can get the latest Pioneer DL burner for as little as $35.00
Description: The Pioneer DVR-110 supports 16x write speeds on both DVD-R/+R along with the capability to write at 8x speed on DVD-R/+R Double/Dual Layer media. The DVR-110 enhances a wide range of DVD applications including the authoring, editing and storing of video files, developing digital music catalogues, building image libraries and backing up data.
Once i get the full discs, i would be more than happy to make copies for others. I'd just ask folks to send the blanks in a self stamped/addressed envelope. That way i just burn the discs, and post them the next morning. I wont have to go to the post office for postage or anything.
This was originally broadcast on HDNET MOVIES, which is a high def, pay channel. It was NOT edited at all. You can get it on DirecTV, some cable systems, and possibly DISH Network.
Splitting the discs sounds like a great idea to me...i'll go for disc 1 quickly anyway. ;-) Again, thanks for doing this, and whatever release schedule you decide on is fine with me. Waiting a few more days is not gonna kill me. ;-)
I've heard abou this film for years and years, so being finally able to see it will be a blast. Thanks again for what will surely be another classic.

p.s. dont worry about being egotistical, a lot of us would LOVE to hear commentaries on your discs, and it wouldnt be an ego thing anyway, just providing info for most of us.
Great news! thanks for sharing. Any chance of posting screen grabs of the menus, and a few choice scene shots? Where are you gonna seed this? Myspleen?
OCP, thanks so much for your tireless efforts in making these wonderful projects. Its MUCH appreciated by all of us. If some day you decide to work on ARMY OF DARKNESS, well that would be great as well. Keep up the good work.
sounds cool to me man, better to do it nicely, instead of rushing. Enjoy your vacation. I'm fiddling with menus in Adobe Encore Dvd right now, and can email you some ideas, if you are in the mood to check them out.
I've been using that as well, and its worked fine for me. I do think you have options for specifying exactly what you want in terms of size. If not, try dropping an email to the programs author. There is a thread of his at www.videohelp.com, and he is great at responding to questions.
Also, i'll try and send some menus tonite, when i'm home from work.
I'd be happy sending out copies to folks, once i complete my download. I've been doing a lots of copying for folks in my Level 42 group. I just have them send me the blank dvd, with a self addressed/stamped envelope. I've done tons, and i can always send the disc out the next day after receipt. That way, it doesnt cost me anything, and i dont have to drive to the post office, as i just drop it my post box on the way to work.
thanks again for another wonderful project. cant wait to check this one out. It was also my fave film as a kid, but as i got older, i drifted towards EMPIRE. Still got lots of love for Jedi, though.
Actually Netflix does have it, as i have it in my queue as we speak. Oddly, they had 2 discs listed, then the 'first' disc when into 'wait' mode or something. i still ahve the EXTRAS disc in my queue, with a short wait.
Dunno if they screwed up, or if Universal made a 2 discs sent for rental houses.
I guess at the end of the day, people change. As much as i'd love to have a pristine dvd copy, i can respect an artists rights, and viewpoint. It's possible its not a worry about current political correctness, but that his feelings about the material has changed.
It would be interesting to get Eddie on record regarding this, instead of all our own conjecture. ;-)
Whats so nuts about that? This is one live concert video, not all his previous films we are talking about. And nothing in ANY of those films is as edgy as that standup routine. The man is a lot older, not a 21 year old who did that standup routine. Its not uncommon for artists of all types to want to distance themselves from their earlier material. Happens with bands as well.
