Help: looking for... Blade Runner - The Electric Unicorn cut
Time

Been trying to source this one for a while now.

Does anybody have this - or know of a source for it?

It seems to have disappeared off the radar and by all accounts it had some wonderful menus and was a viable alternative to ADM’s 2008 Extended Edition.

There’s a version with no menus and a Russian audio dub on DVD9, but would love to get my hands on the original.

PM me if you think you can help!

Yeah, I'll make both a PAL and NTSC version.

EDIT: Also, I can't take full credit for being the man. Don't forget our anonymous hero who capped the stream in HD and has nicely uploaded it for me.

You are almost the man. ;-)

If anonymous hero is out there....you are therefore promoted to the man.

Big ups to both of you though, seriously.

The only things I've successfully done is cut some of the fridge bouncing and rolling and THAT took me a half hour to figure out how to do properly! I wonder if Premiere is overkill for the types of edits I'm looking to make. Is there a more basic and user friendly program for someone like me to use considering I don't need (or know how) to do effects, etc. If I just wanted to cut scenes and audio and change the duration of a scene...

I definitely have even more respect for you guys out there that make this stuff look so easy and professional. No wonder it takes so long to see updates...lol.

I find Womble particularly easy to use, as suggested before. What about Sony Vegas? Most people are using one or the other.

Well, I'm all for trying this out myself, but I'm afraid after 5 hours of working on it I'm starting to realize why it really does take the hand of a pro.

I know there are countless tutorials out there, but any push in the right direction would be helpful.

1.) How do you link different shots together seamlessly to where it doesn't seem like a jump?

2.) How do you isolate audio - say if I wanted to take out the prairie dog squeak for instance.

3.) How do you use the soundtrack to bridge two shots together?

4.) How do you copy a sequence say if you want to loop a scene once to stretch it out? For instance making more of a pause before Indy rolls out of the fridge.

Some of these things are simply tech things I know, but it just floors me to see edits that have been done and how seamless it all is.

Basically I feel like I am WAY over my head here.

Jones - I followed a tutorial posted over at faneditforums by ADM using Womble.

Perhaps asking people like ADM, Boon23, Mollo etc over at Faneditforum might help.

Info: About this whole Indy 4 debate.

The list of cuts and changes to KotCS suggested are...well..excessive, bordering on obsessive.

I'm hearing talk of making it a perfect film or a perfect edit....well, the two before it weren't perfect by a long shot. The amount of changes being suggested are intimidating for anyone to even begin to look at it.

Personally, I think it's going too far and I would have liked to have seen an edit by now, that removed some of the worst crap from the film but essentially left it the same.....but for whatever reason - people are a bit nervous about having a go at this one...perhaps for the reasons above.....

All this work into what should be done to a fanedit of KotCS.....and first up, yes, some serious thought has gone into this....well done.....

Yet - no-one is actually doing it....

Unless one of you steps up and starts this, it'll never happen.

Yes, some people are fanediting the film(or so we are led to believe), but rest-assured, they'll be following their own ideas - not the ones here.

Yea these are great!  Just finished watching your Fellowship...  The edits are very well done!  Can you tell more about the 'revamped' book cuts you mention??? Also... does anyone know of a place where Lord Phillock's book cuts are still available?  Thanks!

Lord Phillock's cuts are no longer available - in part as he wasn't happy with the way they turned out - now I believe that he is supervising/overseeing some new book cuts - not sure who's doing that though....

I'm surprised that no one has commented on these yet.  I watched FOTR tonight and I thought the cuts were seamlessly.  Only one cut that wasn't as smooth, but it might be from the extended edition and not from the fan edit.

I'll soon watch TTT.  I noticed that ROTK is now available as well.

Good job on the work.  I liked Peter Jackson's FOTR, but didn't like TTT and ROTK as much as they were cheesier and more action orientated.

I'd like to watch these, but I'm afraid the download is rather large from BT - especially when I have download limits. An XVID on RS would be appreciated......
