FAN EDIT REQUEST THREAD - Post your dream Fan Edits Here!
Time
I know that this is sacrilege, but bear with me. About fifteen years ago, some friends and I were watching Taxi Driver and it struck me that the entire experience of the film could be changed with one minor edit. The entire feel-good ending could be turned into a daydream and leave people walking out of the theater in a much darker mood.

I don't know, it might be too subtle to even worry about, but just keeping the movie in it's entirety until just before the credits roll, then flash back to Travis on the floor, surrounded by cops falling in and out of consiousness, fade to black, mix in audio of gunshots, roll credits. Therefore making the happy ending (which always seemed a little surreal) no more than a hallucination Travis has just before an unseen final gunfight.

Sorry if my suggestion of tinkering with this incredible movie offends anyone, it's just something that occurred to me.

Han Shooting First Hilarity
Time
two links to more hijinks.

the first is today's comedy goldmine at somethingawful which is entitled "new changes to the starwars saga": http://www.somethingawful.com/articles.php?a=2374

the second is a fark thread from a few days ago entitled "hayden's in return of the jedi now. photo shop other lucas-inspired bastardizations to the holy trilogy's dvd": http://forums.fark.com/cgi/fark/comments.pl?IDLink=1116273

the somethingawful link is absolutely top notch, and the fark thread has it's moments, but they both go well with this thread...

packaging for my new tr47 discs
Time
i'm proud to be a part of this number.

i've got an 8-disc tr47 set on the way and i think i've figured out what i'm going to do about packaging. i found a site selling triple cases that are the same size as singles at http://www.shop4tech.com/user.htm?go=view_item&id=2540&cata=1&s_cata=97 . so i figure that when my official trilogy shows up from deepdiscountdvd (thanks dvdpricesearch) i'll pull the discs and inserts from the official cases and put them in the triples along with the tr47 discs like so:

case one:
- lucas star wars se
- tr47 star wars ot
- tr47 suppliment disc 1
case two:
- lucas empire strikes back se
- tr47 empire strikes back ot
- tr47 suppliment disc 2
case three:
- lucas return of the jedi se
- tr47 return of the jedi ot
- tr47 suppliment disc 3
case four:
- lucas se bonus material disc
- tr47 original suppliment disc
- tr47 cd of cover art and such

thus, if i do a good job of applying the art to the tr47 discs themselves, i should end up with a very professional looking (and quite dense) set that still fits in the silver/black box.

anyone else planning anything similar?

disclaimer: i'm in no way affiliated with tr47 or any of the urls i listed above, just so you know.
