Star Wars coming to Blu Ray (UPDATE: August 30 2011, No! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!)
Time

Here's a great 5 star review from Amazon:

This review is from: Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Episodes I-VI) [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)

Wow what a great release! These movies were so borign when I watched them as a kid. It was nothing but wordz and bad special affect's. But now there are zany cartoons farting added into the scenes and digital updates to make them canonically match the awesome prequels! Awesome, rite??

Also they make Darth Vader say "NOOOOOO...!" when the throws the Emperor into the pit! That's great because at first, I didn't get why he threw the Emporor into the pit. But now I understand he was thinking "NOOOO"!

5 stars A+

Reviews should not be allowed until the set is released. Amazon.com needs to overhaul their review system. They've needed to for years.

I couldn't agree with you more, even though some of these changes suck really bad, reviews should NOT be allowed until they are officially released, because you have all these people posting comments that do not even have the Set LOL.

WOW, I am agreeing with Frink again.

I disagree that reviews should not be allowed until they are officially released.  Some people get their hands on the products before they are officially released, and they should have the opportunity to review the product right then.  Also, in the case of movies, people who have already seen the movie should be allowed to review the movie's plot, etc.  If one thinks that a movie is horrible, one shouldn't have to wait to relive the garbage on DVD/BD in order to review it.

The changes for the SW BD's have been confirmed and that is enough for a lot of people to decide not to buy.  I like the fact that the set has only a 2 star rating before its official release, as some people (who haven't done their research) will wonder why it has a low rating, drill into the reviews, and find out that they too will not support George Lucas by either not ordering or cancelling their pre-order.

I do think that  DVD and Bluray releases of the same movie should have separate reviews/ratings, but that's a different story.

Yes man, but I bet you 95+ percent of those reviews have not seen the Entire blu-ray set or have it on hand.

I'm one of them that don't have the set on hand nor have I viewed the Bluray set, and I left a one star review.  My review would be the same even after I watch the Bluray.  The confirmed changes (and things that haven't been fixed) coupled with the yet again absence of the OTT are the reason why I would never give the set anything higher than a one star rating.

I don't care how the picture might look or anything else.  George has dug the hole already.  All I needed to know is the OTT is not on the set to give it a review.  Blade Runner was a good release.  This upcoming SW BD will not be.  End of story.  I don't need to view it to come to this conclusion.

That's my opinion and how I see it.
