One of my favorite films of all time. If you don’t own the blu-ray, get it now. It’s actually a really well done transfer.
There are people working on a possible sequel; have to see if Universal gives it the green light.
Back again! Apparently, Saturday dropped from Friday down to 25 million. I optimistically say this will do 70M for the weekend; although, I wouldn’t be surprised if it drops farther than that.
I think everyone here can easily agree that there should have been an outline for this trilogy. The last two movies is just Johnson and Abrams writing over each other’s notes; like rival teenagers on a group project.
Even Kamen Rider fansub groups know that QC is important.
I meant to come back and adjust my numbers but oh well. I have a feeling my WW prediction is too high, honestly.
Kylo/Ben does not get beaten by Rey (I presume she’s the random person you refer to) in TROS. It’s quite obvious in their encounters that he’s on top of things. He refrains from striking Rey down because he believes she’ll join him, eventually. You might not like the plot or story or characters or whatever, but please avoid spreading false claims about this movie.
Clarification: He was beaten by her in both of the PREVIOUS movies when she had no training. Whether or not they are on equal footing in TROS is, in my eyes, irrelevant since he’s already been shown to be an incompetent and nonthreatening villain and Rey is shown that she can just do whatever the plot needs her to.
Well, Ben Solo is technically also a Skywalker so it depends on how you see it.
I agree with that assumption but look what they did with him; he’s a buffoon. He’s a completely incompetent and nonthreatening villain. He continuously gets beaten by a random person with no training. He then proceeds to yell and sulk about everything. He’s like Prince Zuko; only less interesting in every conceivable way. Then, in true Sequel fashion, they kill him because they don’t know what to do with him. You don’t kill off your characters for no reason or just because you can, that’s film making 101; just ask Kevin Smith.
So wait, is Star Wars really the Saga of Palpatine? %^%&& Disney in their #@4%^!!!
One hundred percent. This isn’t the Skywalker saga, it’s the Palpatine saga. He’s the only character to be continuously present in all eras of this story and is also the only one that actually succeeds in some of his efforts.
I saw the spoilers quite some time ago and I just laughed them off. There’s no way it could be as bad as all that, right? Right?! Man, was I wrong. I have two major issues with this film.
The Skywalker family is completely dead and gone and the Emperor’s granddaughter takes the Skywalker name.
Imagine only having seen ANH and then being told this was the ending. That sounds like the villains win in the end. It makes it sound like this whole franchise is a complete waste of time.
Kylo somehow transfers his life into Rey, accomplishing something that both Plageius and Sidious could not do throughout their entire lives.
This sounds extremely cheap, undeserved, and frankly lore-breaking.
Everything I’ve heard about this movie sounds completely horrible and completely craps over every single movie, character, plot point, and piece of lore that came before it. Everything that has happened before is completely meaningless. Both Anakin and Luke’s character arcs amounted to nothing in the end.
I don’t consider myself a hater. I’m not at all happy that I feel this cynical about something I’ve loved for the majority of my life. I just can’t switch my feelings off and say “well, it’s more Star Wars”. I mean, come on, I’m more excited about Frozen 2 than I am the final installment in the Skywalker saga.
The numbers I put up are based on how I’ve seen people talking about TROS and by that, I mean pretty much no one. The only person I know who has said anything about seeing this is my dad and I doubt he’ll actually end up seeing it. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if I’m wrong about this but it’s just my perspective.

The idea that this last Star Wars movie won’t crack a billion worldwide seems pretty far-fetched to me.
I can understand that line of thought but the majority of the audience doesn’t care either way and the people who have been adamant about boycotting it have only become more emboldened as time has gone on and information has leaked out. I honestly don’t see a way that this movie doesn’t upset a large amount of fans one way or another. Only time will tell though.
Now I just pray that they put out blu-rays with these masters. Surely they will, right guys? Guys?
It got blocked because of copyright 😦

Those Robin Hood scenes are pristine; looks almost brand new.
I still like Star Wars in my own ways but the wind has definitely been taken out of my sails. I could talk about it more specifically sometime when I get the free time. I don’t want to derail this topic though.
I can’t speak for everybody, but for me, deep apathy has set in and it’s also about whether or not I could make time to get out and see it. It’s just not a priority for me.
Viz’s release of Sailor Moon was atrocious; even when they changed their methods for season three, it still didn’t look right. Funi’s DBZ blu-rays were better but that’s more thanks to the different art style; the characters definitely have the crawling outline problem. I saw the first episode of Toei’s HD upscale of Sailor Moon on broadcast but there’s nothing really to say about it.
I don’t understand how they get it so wrong when Sunrise gets it so right. Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, even Gundam 0079 are so well done, it blows my mind.
I think the people who are insistent on not seeing TROS, myself included, would say that they WERE hardcore fans. How good The Mandalorian may or may not be is pretty irrelevant for me since I won’t be seeing it for quite some time. I don’t have the money right now for Disney Plus and I’m too engrossed in my hype for COIE. The only way I see TROS in theatres is if my dad is extremely insistent.
Back on topic, I’m not changing my prediction quite yet. I haven’t heard anything super concrete about sales yet. The only thing I’ve heard is that TROS outsold Endgame in the first hour, which means nothing since Endgame crashed practically every site when tickets went on sale and some sites were offline for hours afterwards.
Okay, I’m gonna have to be the extremely pessimistic guy here with my projections.
I am prepared for you hate.
I wanted to point out real quick that all of the downloadable screenshot comparisons are now useless as they have photobucket watermarks on them. Also, has anyone heard anything about a new release for Sword in the Stone?
