the "faces" set comes in 2 discs, while the definitive edition comes in 3. I assume that the def ed has better image quality since it is on more data

hmm, the thing about mixing and matching video edits is that, well, the parts that have changed (ie where the ld fills in the gap) will look noticably worse than the other parts. just saying. also, it would be nice to do a mix/match of the two, ie take parts where there's good cgi (ie the temple yavin scene where it's more a maya temple instead of a big blank wall) and so forth.

you know, stuff like dust and specks on the laserdisc versions is a bit disturbing, as I don't remember any on my vhs version. Perhaps a good idea would be to make a dvd version of the widescreen vhs?

laserdisc should be digital. Hell, they're just really really big cds. they probably use a primitive version of MPEG and so on.

unless there has been some major coup in the past few months, the best bootleg you can get is sourced off of laserdisc. I think lucasfilm keeps the print under tight lock. Hell, GL said that the OT doesn't even exist anymore, which is altogether possible, he might have printed the CGI crap directly onto the originals.

one quick question. If these are sourced from laserdiscs, and were made anamorphic simply by deleting the black bars on the bottom, how can they look any better than the original LD's?

Since the sources (Laserdisc) aren't anamorphic, how the bootlegs based on them be? btw, has anyone considered taking scenes from the SE that weren't altered, but were cleaned up in the restoration, and stiching them together with the pre-SE laserdiscs? would be nice

actually, to save you trouble, it would probably be easier for you just to continue seeding the torrents and providing the torrent files. Because your generosity is great, but if you're inundated with 20 requests there might be some problems.

actually, a while back, on another forum, we did something like this. As a matter of fact, the guy shipped the cds for free, he didn't even charge for materials. ok, this is what happened.

Someone looked at the EULA of Freespace 2 and saw a clause that said in effect, "Share with your friends, we don't care"

well, we figured we were all friends even though we had never met in person. So one guy made copies of the game and shipped them out to everyone. The way it worked was, one person would make an original. Then the guy who received it would make a copy for himself and send the original along to the next guy on the list. If you goto sharingthegroove.com they do something like that with their trees/vines. Hell, I'd start one, but I don't have a copy of the stuff

hmm, 40 bucks for a set of 4 dvd-r's and 1 cd-r w/art. a 50 pack of the dvd-r's costs 36 bucks. the cd-r is probably 20 cents. Shipping is about 5 bucks. So, on this, TR-47 is making a profit of 30 bucks. He did spend time ripping the collection and whatnot, however, he still is making a profit illegally since he doesn't own the copyright. I'd jump at this if it were 20 shipped and the labels and whatnot were printed. That's fair. Otherwise, anyone wanna burn me a copy of TR-47's dvd trilogy? I'll pay expenses
