I’ve always found it quite interesting how when the Fox logos were changed for the 97SE they kept their original themes, even on the soundtrack. ANH has always been the most obvious.
I know John Williams himself composed theme for all the films.

John Williams did not compose the music. That was composed by Alfred Newman. He did record a version but it wasn’t used in any of the Star Wars films. Instead they just used the original recording…
I thought they only used the original recording on SW77, but Williams’ recordings on ESB & ROTJ?

We’re getting closer to the goods. This makes me wonder though, if 4K77 was designed to be closer to the original colors then why does it look so off?
Even the official UHD release looks more accurate.
The definition of the “original colors” is famously a difficult problem, involving things like the color temperature of projector bulbs, how much film has faded, nostalgic ideas of what movies of certain eras “should” look like, etc etc.
That being said, this clip is so lacking in contrast (except for the subs) that I wonder if the final thing will look very different.
But it is a nice confirmation of the original subs
The DOUT isn’t going to be in cinemas for a whole year. Nobody knows about home releases yet. I think waiting for that isn’t practical or desirable, especially as lots of work has already been done.
Why are we calling it DOUT again? There is no other version called “OUT”, why do we have to specify it’s Disney???

I think technically this site’s goal is unrealized until it’s available on physical home media, but yes it’s pretty close.
Are new clips still leaking? Or are these ones that leaked originally and are just being posted now?

I think is is an intentional leak at this point to get feedback from technically-minded fans.

I have tried posting this numerous times now and everywhere i’ve uploaded it, it has instantly been blocked. My only option was to upload it to google drive. I don’t know how long this will last due to the bandwidth restrictions , but it was my only option. You can view the preview or download the clip to see it in better quality ( which is what i would recommend )

I do not believe that the copyright bot cares what you write in the description. Fair Use and other US copyright law terms apply whether or not you put something in a video description. This is like the idea that posting a particular copy-pasted paragraph on Facebook somehow protects you from their data collection; it does nothing.

the skies on Tatooine are blue because the skies on Tatooine (Tunisia) ARE blue… They’ve been desaturated on home media (especially in the UHD) but have always been and meant to be a deep and bright blue…
If they’ve been desaturated on home media, does that not imply that they’re meant to be desaturated?
Kind of a strange question for a forum partly dedicated to complaining about all the ways the colors have been wrong on home media releases of this movie.

A bit of gate weave on that one
After viewing it a few times, I think it is a real problem. I think it’s a “crossing the line” issue, as they say in filmmaking.
Specifically it’s between images 4 & 5 of this sequence. By having the sandcrawler on the left, the camera has completely swung around from where it was before, in a very jarring way. It’s made worse by then swinging back around to where we were before for the next shot, but it would be a problem even without that.
I think the reason it’s okay to then do it for image 7 is that Threepio’s presence in frame anchors the viewer somehow? Anyway, continuity issues are less important than the visual language of film.
A post with a link to a youtube compilation of many of these clips made it onto r/starwars over on reddit. So, knowledge of this is certainly spreading.
