I’ll be curious to see if there’s a v2 after Andor Season 2
I’ll be curious to see if there’s a v2 after Andor Season 2
I’ve decided to release two versions of AOTC, exactly the same except one will include the flashback scene from Obi-Wan Kenobi and the other will not. I’ve thought a lot about this, and I personally feel like having the scene is like slotting in a missing piece of the script, something that always should’ve been there. However, I can’t ignore that no matter how much tinkering I do, it will never feel like it’s completely a part of this film, as it was filmed 20+ years later than the rest of it. Some may be more bothered by it’s inclusion than others, and I’ve made a lot of changes beyond that that people may be interested in. So it’s going to be available with the scene (my preferred version, and the one I’ll personally watch) and without it.
Have you done much in making it look worse, so it fits the rest of the film better?
The problem is mostly that the cinematography styles don’t match and the actors are visibly two decades older.
Ah, right, yes. I feel like there was some effort with deepfakes for the latter problem, but the cinematography is what it is

I think, for that level of granularity of preference, you may just have to learn how to do it yourself
It is pretty good. Not amazing, but much better than I expected.
I assume Palpatine created the EPA and gave Federal recognition to native tribes
Well, there’s the confirmation. Congrats to the OP, he was probably the first one to find it.
I almost wonder if OP was actually a researcher for Prop Store, running this by the fans discretely to judge if we’d accept this as true.
(for the record, I do think it’s true)
This sort of thing (for any movie) has long been the holy grail of fan editors. It has been pretty much impossible to achieve, though I’ve heard there have been good results with specialized music-removal machine-learning algorithms. But no, as far as I know, that does not exist (yet).
That being said, the movie is sufficiently visual and the music is so fundamental to the film that you might just try writing music to play under the film with no other sound.
The shoe itself is up for sale: https://propstoreauction.com/lot-details/index/catalog/359/lot/119014
I think he thinks that if he crowdsources re-creating individual scenes from the movie and then stitches them back together into a fan-made re-creation of the entire film, this will be legally free for anyone to view.
I just thought of something. When Luke and friends are on the skiff, and he tells Han, “there’s nothing to see, I used to live here, you know” doesn’t Han know what Tatooine looks like? He’s hung out there before, in the first movie.
I’ve rationalized this to say that sure, he’s been to Mos Eisley, but hot the “middle-of-nowhere” parts like the endless sand dunes where Luke’s home was. (I don’t want there to be an issue with this line exchange because I love it)
Yeah I’m pretty sure your rationalization is the correct answer here
A consistent canon is only possible through editing and retcons. Like in Tolkien for instance.
And even he left holes & mysteries undecided (origin of the Orcs, for example)
The real question is: why does anyone care about having a consistent canon?
All gorgeous, though I question the need for the yellow oval flashes when blades clash. I assumed you’d be removing those, since that’s not how light works!
That’s how lightsabers work.
It’s true; light also famously doesn’t hum
I would like a lot more information
I find it kinda ironic that you cut the bongo sequence with the sea monsters because the cool creature stuff is the only reason I’d ever keep the journey to Otoh Gungah at all. Just my preference tho, obviously you can do what you want.
I feel like, without Otoh Gungah, Boss Nass & Co come out of nowhere in the 3rd act
I’m enjoying the show so far and personally enjoying the connection to Rebels, but I keep finding myself asking the question of where do these people go between now and the sequel trilogy?
I think it was mentioned earlier by someone else, but where’s Ashoka and Ezra in those movies. The takeaway from those was that Luke is the only one left and there is no other Jedi’s left and he’s the only hope.
Where as the Ashoka show implies that there is at least 3 other Jedi if you count Sabine. What becomes of them not to show up in the sequel trilogies.
Connecting all of this is what I’m most intrigued by and maybe we come to learn that through either this, The Mandolorian or the BoBF.
What’s very funny is that all of these problems also apply to these same characters being present during the original trilogy.
On the other hand, it’s not universe shrinkage
Ideas:
It’s pretty clear in ESB that Fett is working for Vader and trying to collect another bounty on Han
But yes his appearance in ANH:SE makes no sense
Overcoming years of (deserved) repressed guilt, a terrible upbringing, years of service to an abusive master, etc etc in order to save a loved one and thereby killing the Sith Lord who had masterminded a galactic war and subsequently held the galaxy under his power is undeniably great. You can’t measure Anakin without taking the end of ROTJ into consideration.
But anyway, discovering how to be one with the Force after death such that somehow you can manifest as an individual ghost is a pretty big deal so maybe it should be Qui-Gon.
Return of the Jedi Revisited has been halted according to one of he’s recent updates, a New Hope revisited is he’s to be completed and released before he moves back onto Jedi.
There hasn’t been an update in five months. I wonder how he’s doing.
He’s posted on these forums over the summer, just no big update. I’m sure there’ll be an update when he’s ready
I mean it was a free, publicly available copy of a copyrighted work. That’s illegal.
Yeah, that’s a good answer. But it was on Internet Archive though. My guess is that maybe Puggo took it down or it violated Community Guidelines.
Or Disney finally told the IA to take it down. Or the IA is upping their enforcement in light of their recent lawsuit issues.
I mean it was a free, publicly available copy of a copyrighted work. That’s illegal.
It would benefit from somehow masking out the kids on the walkway, but other than that it’s really great
If I had the time, this is the project I would work on. Unfortunately, I don’t even have time 😦
