The mysteries around what exactly went down on Osha’s homeworld definitely have me intrigued. Whatever it is I assume at this point it’ll likely be more to it than that.
The production values, sets, the effects, sound, acting are all on point. As well as the choreography and direction. The story has me engaged, wanting to know more, and is cleverly done.
I’m drinking in the depiction of the Jedi here so far; both the older Jedi and the younger more arrogant Jedi, although I guess there’ll be more to come on that as well. We’ve already learnt a lot, far more than I expected for the opening two episodes. A big plus for the fight choreography; slick, fresh and yet felt very Star Wars.
Really enjoyed this so far, and looking forward to next week’s episode.
I just that myself and thought the same thing. Three years and it doesn’t look much different than it was back in 2021.
A pity, without the microtransactions it does look like kind of fun.
Other than Outlaws, and maybe the Eclipse game and KOTR remake (if they ever get finished or released), there doesn’t see much new games on the horizon?
There’s apparently another edition of the original Star Wars trilogy. In 2003, when the the trilogy premiered on TV in Chile, it aired without traditional commercial breaks, instead having advertisements for a beer brand called Cerveza Cristal inserted into the movies themselves. Would anyone on this forum be interested in helping find these cuts in their entirety?

Many of the comments in the Star Wars Underworld twitter thread makes some very good points, and the majority are wanting the theatrical cuts being released, or are calling George out for him comments.
That is pleasing to see, that most see straight through George and his claims.
Yeah, it appears the days of George just repeating shit until it becomes an accepted “truth” by many fans are long gone (other than the lazy/clickbait media and George/Prequel worshippers, of course!)
The following abridged screenshot (edited for length) is from Lucasfilm department director Bill Kimberlin’s excellent 2018 book - Inside The Star Wars Empire, from ‘The Distraction’ chapter, starting on Page 194.
It covers George Lucas refusing the option to have a duplicate negative of the original cuts to be made. Something that “could be easily done”. Instead George simply said “This is the original version” (meaning the 1997 SE cut was now “the original version”):
So when George used to tell everyone all the many excuses in the past as to why he couldn’t preserve or restore the original cuts, it was all rubbish. For someone who even today goes on record about the importance of preserving film history, George actively suppressed the preservation and archiving of his own film, as well as the films of other directors in the Original Trilogy.
Lucas is also on record as specifically wanting the original cuts of the OT films to no longer exist:
George Lucas: “There will only be one. And it won’t be what I would call the ‘rough cut’, it’ll be the 'final cut.’”

The entire “Inside The Star Wars Empire” book is a really good enjoyable read and would recommend anyone to go and buy it.

Fast forward to timecode 53:08 … the interviewer asks Lucas a question from a fan, if he will release the original versions in the future. Lucas drops the “it looks terrible” quote a few seconds later.

I think the whole “Special Edition” section is worth viewing. It is only 5 minutes long, starting at 50m 42s into the video, and there are also chapters timestamped in the video description.
The part where George talks about the film belonging to the director and he “should have the right to have the movie the way he wants it” (but makes no mention of Kershner or Marquand directing the other two OT films, nor him making changes to their films), and George then talks about Michelangelo, starts at 55m 23s.
And as everyone knows, ‘neither The_Empire Strikes Back or Return Of The Jedi are available as their respective directors intended, or indeed made, on a modern and quality digital format.’ 😦

At the time of above conversation George Lucas had already made changes to directors Irvin Kershner’s ‘Empire Strikes Back’, and Richard Marquand’s ‘Return Of The Jedi’ - and would also make go on to make further additional changes to both films.
Neither the Empire Strikes Back or Return Of The Jedi are available as their respective directors intended, or indeed made, on a modern and quality digital format.

If you focus on the ethnicity of the characters of a movie instead of enjoying the movie itself, I honestly think you are the problem here. Who cares if the characters are white, black, green or transparent? That’s not the point. So yes, it’s a stupid criticism.
That is a huge false equivalency in your opening sentence: Who said you can’t do both? Enjoy it, but also acknowledge there are some issues? Most of us here all love the OT, but can recognise there are some shortcomings.

It is George’s answer to the criticism that people appear to be taking issue with. Keyan literally said:

the whole clone plot of AOTC falls flat on its face long before this scene. And maybe its nitpicking compared to the more glaring flaws of the PT. But with PT apologists raving in awe over the “machiavellen”, “intrigue”,“slieght of hand” plots, it needs to be pointed out that palpatine can only do this because everyone around him is dumber than a bag of rocks and acts completely illogical. and not just illogical given the circumstances, but also against their own emotions.
There were too many scenes like this throughout the three Prequels films.

The '97SE vhs tapes are the Star Wars OT I grew up on, but I’ve rally struggled finding a good quality version of them since, really bums me out 😕

I genuinely can’t remember that being in the film. I’ve probably seen more fan edits of TPM than the official cuts, so can see why many fan editors opted to cut that disturbingly cringe scene.

Some good and fresh choreography there. It is actually refreshing to see fight scenes that aren’t constant cuts every 10 milliseconds, or embarrassingly slow or formulaic.
