Hello all! 486 clip edits later, v0 is ready! The final runtime is 2 hours 58 minutes. It is hefty, but the hundreds of edits for pacing make it fly by.
File details:
24.99 gb, 3840x1608p, 5.1 surround sound (English track only), H.265 MKV, 02:58:01 total runtime
(smaller file and english subtitles on the way in v1)
I truly believe the Ahsoka series is some of the best Star Wars has to offer but was held back by such poor editing and pacing. This movie edit remedies that by condensing the series as much as possible and comitting to a more theatrical experience. I want this edit to feel like you could view it in a theater and have it stand side by side with the other Star Wars movies. Originally, I had hoped to get the run time down much more but through editing it found that most scenes were either enjoyable or necessary and mostly just needed pacing edits. As a result, this edit can fully replace the series for first time watchers – you won’t be missing anything important.
Scenes that were deleted:
- Sabine reminescing on Ahsoka’s ship
- Ahsoka and Hera’s conversation about Sabine after she takes the map
- Hera talking to Sabine in the hospital
- Ahsoka and Hera’s conversation about Sabine on Corellia
- Hera leaving the fleet to go to Seatos
- Baylan sending a hunting party out into the woods
- Ahsoka waking up on the Ghost without her headdress
- The New Republic fleet arriving on seatos
- Hera’s trial on Coruscant
- Sabine fighting the raiders on Peridea
- Ahsoka viewing Anakin’s old holograms
- Baylan and Shin’s conversation while tracking Sabine
- Shin being aided by the raiders to attack Ezra and Sabine
- Baylan and Ahsoka’s second fight on Peridea
- Ezra building his lightsaber
- (there may be other minor things I am forgetting)
Every other scene remains in this edit in a heavily condensed form. Some scenes are slightly rearranged for a better flow. It moves fast and there’s a lot less useless or dumb dialogue, awkward pauses, or unnecessary/confusing beats.
A new traditional-style crawl was added that retains the orignal series’ music and red coloring. It is slightly condensed with some added context for those who didn’t watch Rebels. The final episode’s title was chosen to represent the edit as a whole. Its reference to the Chronicles of Narnia was most compelling to me. The World Between Worlds is also a reference to Narnia. Though, it is subject to change if anyone wants to pitch ideas!

Episode I
THE JEDI, THE WITCH,
AND THE WARLORD
The GALACTIC EMPIRE has
fallen and a NEW REPUBLIC
has risen to take its place.
However, some already plot to
undermine the fragile peace.
These sinister agents search
for Imperieal GRAND ADMIRAL
THRAWN, long ago subjected
to exile by the Jedi Padawan
EZRA BRIDGER with help
from the mythic hyperspace
star-whales. If Thrawn should
return, it would galvanize the
rising Imperial remnants and
begin another war.
Former Jedi Knight AHSOKA
TANO has captured Thrawn’s
ally, MORGAN ELSBETH, and
learned of an ancient map
vital to her plans. As Ahsoka
searches for the map, Morgan
is taken into custody by the
New Republic…
I put together a comparison of the first ~10 minutes if you’d like to see my editing style. And if anyone asks what the difference between this and Smudger’s edit is, I have no idea! I have not seen Smudger’s edit. Truthfully, the difference is that this one is made by me, and his is made by him. Watch the first few minutes of both to see our different sensibilities and decide which vibe you prefer!
