I made my own fan edits of 1995,1998,1999, 2000, and 2003 James Bond VHS Collection with a twist kinda like version 1 and version 2.

For Sean Connery all of his James Bond 007 movies were re released on VHS in 2000 by MGM including Never Say Never Again.

George’s movie Was released in 1999

Moores were released in 1999 and 2000

Pierce Brosnan’s depending on the release for his first 3 James Bond films the they were released the following year on VHS. For Die another Day is was released in either wide screen or full screen. The World is not enough out of the first three of Brosnans Bond films only was offered in widescreen with no additional full screen in pan scan like the first generation Goldeneye or Tomorrow Neverdies Dvds.

For Daltons Bond films The Living Daylights was released in 1999 Licence to kill was released 2000

Ive got all the movies finished in full screen. 1920x1038 the movies feature the James VHS & DVD Collection ad promo and the 1999 and 2000 ad mgm means great movies ad.

I dont recall how Tomorrow Neverdies ended in theaters but I do remember Die another Day vividly its exactly the same as the VHS the movie even had the same trailers before the beginning of the movie. The ending even included the mgm color changing background in theaters. However didnt include the color changing background at the movies opening in theaters.

Im also working on fan edits of the 1982-1989 CBS/Fox version of the James Bond VHS Collection. I would like to get the a copy of a logo woth audio if possible of the early 1968 TransAmerica logo thats not the multi colored one for OHMSS. Also The Transamerica T logo with sound, along with the later Transamerica logo on Moonraker. I have right now the movies with out the Transamerica logos added in as a different cut of films. The one main logo I need is a 1983 white background with blue text CBS FOX opening with sound preferred.

Until the disc is out we won’t know for sure, but every HD version and preview is still the cropped image.

The UE used a remix in DTS which lacked the bass impact of the original, though I’ve never heard the DTS LD version. The problem is extracting that DTS form the LD but maybe ti will be possible to find the DTS theatrical discs for GE, TND and TWINE (ES track!). The SE DVD audio should be exactly the same as the LD Dolby track, I don’t think there’s a difference save for maybe a bit of compression.

Lowry= bad for film fans.

Don’t be too certain about Raiders. the 35mm looked different to me, some say this about the IMAX as well, and there are some shots leaking from the BD which show some definite changes. But these of course may be a bit more negative accurate, though I doubt it.

Thanks to Harmy’s outstanding work, I’m now wondering about trying to de-specialize the Bonds, but I don’t think the grain manipulation and related tweaks could ever match.

Just side note to this the LD 5.1 Dolby Digital isnt compressed as much and also outputs a louder output that compressed 5.1 dolby digital from a DVd.

The easier way to blend the Bond scenes in would be use a vhs-c camcorder with video in and out. The cam corders will give the films a totally official looking commercially released vhs movie even with higher grade output causw I think the transfer method maybe better then that was used on some commercial tapes. Betamax record would be a great way to get some film grain and also even out the grain in new scenes as well as new restored scenes added back in to the movie. The betamax could then be transfered and then be digitally tweaked if wanted.

would love to see the 007 fan edits of the movies you’re working on. Ive made a few along with others. I have a full set of fan edited 1999, and 2000 James Bond Ultimate VHS collection 1962-2002. It’s amazing how much better Die another day looks as a 4:3 even stretched it looks better than the theatrical. Its amazing how the VHS matches the Movie exactly to what was shown in theaters just minus the mgm color changing background, and the FBI warning from the first of the tape. The previews that are on thw vhs are the same as what was shown in theaters.

I would love to see an edit with Dolly with 1970s braces like Mikey from The Movie The Goonies. I totally remember her wearing them in MoonRaker.

Do you not like Licence to kill? I realized you were going off Eon though. Licence to kill, originally Licence Revoked was later renamed. It was written along with a follow up, Licence Reinstated,Goldeneye, and Tomorrow Never Dies as well.
