I would suggest getting a 1-month subscription to a premium news provider and to download them from alt.binaries.starwars. With costs in the range of USD 10-15 this should be relative affordable.

Weird, after watching both ESB versions yesterday, I'd have to agree with you Dark_Jedi that the SE transfer looked better.

Onward to ROJ now for the final comparision...

In any case, thanks again for your work and for releasing it, now I am finally able to put away my last six VHS tapes which I kept around.

All copies are digital, so the quality per se does not suffer at all. There might be a new glitch introduced here or there if small errors crop in, but that should be the extent of it.

I'm currently downloading the SE version of ESB from alt.binaries.starwars, and look forward to watching both that and the DC version tomorrow to compare again.

Maybe my tired eyes played tricks on me...

Finally found the time today to watch both your DC version of ANH, and the fresh SE version of ANH, Dark_Jedi. First, thanks a lot for the great work, it is very much appreciated!

I noticed the SE version has a much softer image compared to the DC version. Was the source material already so much softer, or were more agressive noise filters necessary for the SE version? Just curious.

Well, having the multilingual audio alone without any additional work on different language crawl, subtitles etc. would already be a large benefit.

But I understand your hesitation about the workload vs. interest, and will most happily take the releases in whatever form they come.

If I understand it correctly, you're working with both the German and French LDs. With the huge amount of space available on the DL DVDs, have you ever thought about including the German and French audio as well as the English? It would be fantastic to have a truly multilingual DVD version at some point.

However it turns out, I'm looking forward to your PAL release, and thank you already in advance for all the effort put into it!
