My stupid ISP is jerkin me around and has really slammed my speed....(grrrr) I wish I could download this by tonight and see it but its going to take until tomorrow night for me....

Yeah same here. Comcast stiffs me every time I fire up usenet. My download speed starts around 2000 K/s and plummets to about 765. :|

I believe that's Comcast's "power boost" feature at work, which gives ludicrous speed downloads for a few seconds before leveling off into the 700-900KB/s range.

THE OT SOUNDTRACKS SALVAGE - SWESBROTJ -"remastered"(so far)+ LP's (Released)
Time

Speaking of covers, on the rear of the Empire Strikes Back, disc 2 track 13 should probably be titled "LOSING A HAND". And, on the rear of the Return of the Jedi, the number for disc 1 track 13 isn't colored blue like the rest of them. Just some minor glitches that might be worth fixing for next time.

Ehhh, not to sure if I agree there. Cloud City is a mining colony: either its going to look like Vegas or ... well... a mining colony. Granted, the "wealthy" may live on top, with the rest of the classes getting poorer as the levels go down (and the jobs get dirtier), so maybe the BOTTOM of Cloud City could have the jets of fire and pollution coming out and all - to contrast with the "pristine" top section.

It's a gas mine, though, so it's not likely to get as dirty as an ore mine.

In any case, I think it's important that the upper levels be kept as squeaky clean as possible. Themeatically, the whole point of the place is that everything is bright and sunny on the surface, but dark and ugly underneath once we get to know it better. Showing off the unpleasant side of it too early works against what the film is trying to do, I think.

btw

why didn't the death star just blow up yavin and wipe out the moon in the process?

Presumably the Death Star is built to wipe out solid rocky planets and not big gas giants like Yavin.

But yeah, the whole "Leia as sister" angle is completely stupid on many levels. Since Darth Vader just knows Luke is his son during the fight in Empire, he should know who Leia is while she's stuck in her cell and wouldn't have to find out from Luke by the time Jedi rolls around. Not only that, but it completely wipes out the Luke-Han-Leia love triangle from the first two films as undramatically as possible.

That's par for the course for Return of the Jedi, though. Instead of a disillusioned Luke confronting Obi Wan about his lie about Vader, we get a "certain point of view" BS. Instead of Han being furious with Lando over his betrayal at Bespin, the two are good pals again almost immediately. Even the film's climax has Darth Vader growing a conscience with little build-up or reason. It's a mess of a film I'm not sure even Adywan's significant skills can fix.

Every player I've tried handles DVD-R DL discs just fine, including older players. I would recommend against DVD+R DL discs, however. Perhaps it was the brand (Memorex), my burner (Pioneer) or my players but every DVD+R DL disc I burned had serious glitching at the layer change everywhere I tried them.

The glitch is so small you'd only notice it if you were concentrating intently on the film or you knew it was there in the first place (damn I shoulda kept my mouth shut ).
I could put the fixed ESB mp3-wav on the ROTJ XviD DVD-R when ROTJ is done, there'll be enough space because the avi will be under 4gb.

The VirtualDub method sounds like a great idea. It'll get the fix out for anyone who cares while saving time and bandwidth better spent on other things.

The release itself looks and sounds excellent. Thanks for all your hard work in making it a reality.

I was really looking forward to the XviD, in addition to the DVD. I hope a fixed version will be posted at some point for the sake of my inner perfectionist.
