team negative1 - star wars 1977 - 35mm theatrical version (Released)
Time

Hello, long time viewer first time poster. Been a fan of Star Wars since the 70s and was really hardcore in the 80s and early 90s. The prequels really turned me away from SW for a while… even the OT which I’m really mad about.

Anyway I’ve been in the SW community in one way or another since the usenet. Heavily involved with r.a.s.sf.sw when it was conceived, was Steve Sansweet’s first collections manager/archivist, and helped write several books etc.

Back when the OT was first released to Laser in the “Definitive” collection, I helped write a list of all the additions, subtractions, and mistakes… I actually found that file still floating around on the net…

I was also a projectionist for USC and then Pixar for a short while. This reconstruction of the OT just blows my mind. Especially the SS edition. Harmy’s version is beautiful… almost too beautiful. Thing is that I never saw Star Wars in the theater at such a high quality so it’s kinda weird to me. When I first laid eyes on the SS edition I nearly cried. It’s was so comforting… the grain in the image brought back deep emotions that I seriously hadn’t felt since I was like 11 or 12.

OK I’m trying to locate SS v1.6 and according to you guys here it’s on myspleen and you need an invite. I do not have an invite. Can I get an invite?
