Would they need a complete overhaul of the main plot and characters (if so, any thoughts?) or just relatively cosmetic things like better actors, directing and writing out Jar Jar as well as all the unnecessary tie ins with the original. I really don't need a huge rehash of all the critique, just interested in how much different you'd want them to be if you could white wash and re-do a Star Wars prequel before they could be deemed acceptable. (apologies if this is a tired subject)

Doesn't Windu mention there having been peace in the Republic for "1000 years" in Ep1? Don't even know if it crops up in any other films, just curious. The whole speaking English thing ain't no thing but terms line "year" don't necessarily translate well right?

Wasn't the gimic supposed to be the mystery surrounding Darth Maul and Qui Gon being forced into action? The film probably doesn't set it up well but it is the end to the first notable conflict between Jedi and this new unknown Sith threat right?. How could it have been better presented to exploit a meaningful clash of mental wills between the characters?
