fuck it....

Mitch I think you are over reacting just a smidgen. You asked when could you order, he pointed out that its been available for 4 months already. Yeah he maybe could of told you how to order but seeing as you didn't ask him to I wouldn't have expected him to.

Chill, get a coke out the fridge and relax. Life is far to short to get so upset!

Well that rules me out, I haven't seen any of the stuff other than the bits on YouTube and trailers. I was waiting on the set to finish before I grabbed all the DVD's.

By the way, in a more ironic sense, I never would have thought the original Star Wars trilogy would be released on DVD. I would have bet money that an official "Thief" restoration would hit DVD before that. Oh well.

It took me a while to track down what you where taking about with the OT SW but thanks for mentioning it otherwise it would have been a while before I'd known!

Again: we need someone in the UK with a hard drive or DVD Recorder that can get to Elstree Studios and sit for a day transferring files. I don't mind paying towards costs to make this happen, as I have a good amount of stuff that would bolster the overall set.

HELP!

Tequila, I seem to be the only UK'er thats posting. I have an external harddrive (300gb, USB & Firewire connectors, currently NTFS formatted). I could get the data from you then "we" can figure out what to do with it after that. I have a PC dvd writer (Philips DVDR1660/K).

I'd come up by train (I can't drive and even if I did it would be faster by train) It would take me about 1h45mins to get to Elstree & Borehamwood station, so I could easily get there for say 9am or 10am. (probably wanting to arrive for 10, depending on train costs, not sure when the "cheaper" return tickets would be).

I could do this either Friday this week of Monday next week. The only "hinderance" is I'd be bringing a 11month old kid with me I do the child care in the mornings. I have a wrap which I tend to carry him in, rather than using a pushchair so even with him I can travel fairly light.

Anyway I'd be happy to do this and my wife has said she is okay with it too.

I'll PM you this response to make sure you get it.

Hi there Rob!

Justin's a good man ... an old and dear friend. =) I think he's reading this thread occasionally too.

Indeed, I've seen him pop up a couple of times. I consider myself quite lucky to have "met" him on livejournal, as we both share a passion for film scores

What we really need in the UK is someone with something like a Sony PD-150 camera, something that plays DVCAM.

I'm not sure if anyone I know has one but I can ask around.

Coz that is DVCam format and will play my tapes. If anyone in the UK has that at least then they can capture via Firewire into their computers.

Or... REALLY CRAZY IDEA... How much is a 20/30gb hard drive? I could perhaps shift everything onto one drive and send that out? It would be in the Matrox uncompressed AVI format (which DEFINATELY plays in Quicktime and FCP). That's a pretty crazy idea.

(Catching up on posts, this might already have been dealt with) I'm in the UK, and I would be happy to take a HD and burn the contents to DVD. I'd need to find a converter for the Matrox AVI format but I'm sure I can.

BTW Just wanted to say hi, I've been lurking in this thread since the beginning and been greatly enjoying reading the progess you have been making on this movie. Thanks for the sterling work you have done on this Garrett (and everyone else) and I look forward to seeing the movie when its complete (and all those DVD's!). I got here in a roundabout way, your friend Justin sent me a copy of the Star Wars: A New Hope you did, started reading the threads here for the Empire and Jedi cuts.
