Yay! 35mm scans of empire are almost ready! Super excited, the preview looks great and was a nice New Years treat to watch. Thanks team. Happy new year and may the force be with you fine people.
Man I would pay for sweet packaging to go with these. This and harmy’s despecialized got me more hyped for force awakens then any marketing for the movie. Disney needs to release a theatrical boxset with force awakens. Even when I walked by the blu Ray steelbooks it broke my heart a little cause they were semi pretty but contained those 2011 discs and it would have been a perfect opportunity to stuff a restored theatrical cut disc into them. Would’ve made Disney even more money. Oh well it saves my wallet.
Can’t wait for this and Star Wars and Jedi keep up the awesome preservations 👍👌
Has anyone able to watch this at the Amc iMax and get the Rey poster? I had to work so I could not pick it up. It came out today.

The guy in the comments said there is supposedly 20 prints being released but only 15 listed so far. I hope it comes here to Denver since it’s 12 hour drive in any direction for me 😦.
It would be neat be able to compare digital versus the 70mm version.
I wish I was on the email list. If this is somehow finished before the force awakens it will go along nicely with the grind house esb. Or even after. Would gladly pay money to watch these restored prints in a theater.
Totally should make some Criterion covers for the 2.0 versions. I think it's neat what Criterion's graphic artists have been doing for stuff like the new Godzilla 1954 blu-ray and 12 angry men.
I also think harmy should apply for a criterion internship with them ;). You would totally get a job remastering other old movies.
