Preserving "French" Original Trilogy - ANH V1.0 released - ESB in progress
Time

This is so awesome !

I have been trying to do proper french subtitles for months, in order to share the original movie with my family.

Now I see that not only I don't need to do them anymore but that there is also a FULL french "Star Wars"...

Awesome ! Thank you for all the work !

By the way, last weekend I have made a translation of Harmy's featurette but as I am in a "student room", I can't upload or download anything right now. But this weekend if it's posible, I will share it with you guys !

That's the least I can do for the french-speaking community.

Yeah, but was it an mkv or an avchd?  (sorry, couldn't resist)

I have watched it in MKV.

Actually, it was easier with an MKV because I needed the subtitles for my family.
And also, I deleted all the soundtracks I didn't need.  I just kept all the english soundtracks and the french one.

Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)
Time

Hi ! This is my first post ever in this website.

I guess, I have to explain why I'm here today...

I grew up with Star Wars. Actually, I don't remember the first time I saw the original trilogy because I grew up with it. We had the old french VHS edition. The original one. When the Special Edition came out, we didn't buy it. I mean, I was the only fan in my family, I was 6 or 7 years and I didn't even know this special edition existed.

So, you can imagine how I felt when I bought the DVD in 2004.... "What the hell ??!! What just happened with Greedo ?! Why did he shot Han?!" "Wait ? I have never seen this scene before ? What is this creepy CGI Jabba doing here ? Oh my god, this scene is awful! I hate that !"

I have to admit that the rest of the changes were quite OK for me. They were not as "huge" as the Greedo and Jabba scenes and the new CGI was cool. I have always loved the ESB and the new edition was OK too.

About the ROTJ, even when I was a child, I didn't really like it. At least, I didn't "LOVE" this movie, like I loved the two firsts. And until the end, I was quite happy. In my opinion, the new celebration music was really good, better than the original one. But there was a last surprise... "WHAT?!!! HAYDEN CHRISTENSEN ?!!! WHY ???!!! NO!!!"

I couldn't believe it. It was totally unnecessary. The movie was really good until this moment...

After that, I saw the movies a lot of time but each time, I felt weird. I mean, the movies I grew up with didn't exist anymore. It such a shame...

When the Blu-Ray's came out, I was very enthusiastic. After all, It couldn't be worse right ?... And then... "Why ?! Changes?! Again ?! Why Darth Vader is yelling "NOOOO"? Come one George, it was nessecary! I just wanter a High-Res Star Wars! You're killing me man..."

And that was the moment that make me come here.

I started to search a way to saw the OUT. First, I saw that a DVD Edition was edited in 2006 and then I discovered that there was a HUGE community triying to create an "Original HD version".

I found the Harmy Google's account, with all the comparison pictures... It was AWESOME ! I wanted that ! I really really wanted to watch that ! But unfortunately, after a couple of days, I wasn't able to find a way to download it. Then I gave up and completely forgot that the existence of Fan Edits...

A couple of months ago, I was in the Internet and I saw that the Despecialized Edition V2 had been created! WOW ! I couldn't miss it, so I searched again and I found it finally. I watched it and... Guys, it changed my life! The Star Wars of my childhood. The Star Wars I knew. The Star Wars I grew up with... in HD ! Harmy, your work is fantastic. Really amazing. You're doing something that represents so much for millions of people! It's true. I don't know if you can imagine, but your work have such a huge value. I am not talking about money, I am talking about the influence of what you have been doing. Thousands of people have recovered faith in Star Wars again, thanks to you ! I can't describe how I feel about all of that. I mean, it's just amazing. I talk about it all the time to my friends, my family, to everybody! Just... thank you man. Thank you so much.
