Causalogically LOST deserves at least as much attention as Chronologically LOST, this is stellar work and for me the only valid alternative viewing experience.
I’m a big LOST fan but my wife has never seen it. Attempting ‘Chronologically LOST’ was a traumatizing experience for both of us lol. It made me realize though that the best experience for a first time viewer, and what I also want on a rewatch, is ‘causalogical’, but not just that. It also starts the same place the original series started; September 22 with Oceanic 815 survivors, specifically ‘Causalogically LOST’ episode 15 “September 22” at around the 40 minute mark when the flight attendant gives Jack a drink. That’s where we just started watching and at three episodes in, I can happily say Wigjuice nailed it.
The key to this experience is following the Oceanic 815 stories exclusively, and they don’t know anything about anyone else. By removing the backstory this way, you focus entirely on the actual story. Now, the first time the survivors meet anyone else on the island, is the first time we meet them. We only experience what they experience, as they experience it. After their story finishes, that may be a good time to start at the actual beginning of the flashbacks as a ‘prequel’.
